Review of the Popular Workout Video Hip Hop Abs

Abs Workout, Beachbody, Flat Abs, Muscle Training, Shaun T

~”T” Anyone? Shaun T of Hip Hop Abs, that is!!~

I’m a forty-something mother of four children. I found out quickly after having my first child that I would need to do something drastic in order to get my figure at least somewhat close to what it was before pregnancy. With each child, trying to lose weight and get back into shape was a little more difficult. To be honest, I never really lost all of the weight and was never exactly the same as I was before pregnancy, but I tried to stay in the best shape I could and continued to be very active.

During the years of pregnancy and thereafter, I participated in many workout programs. I’ve done aerobics with Jane Fonda and various other workout gurus. I’ve worked out with The Firm, which is an aerobic workout with weights. I have had gym memberships with training on weight machines and have worked out at home with free weights. So you can see, I’ve pretty much done it all.

Now that I’m forty-something, the weight around my waist just seems to blossom overnight. Granted, I don’t eat all the right foods all the time. I believe in eating what I want – in moderation. Yes, I could cut out the sweets and the empty carbohydrates completely, but then again…. I’ve had four children. I feel like I deserve to have a little junk once in awhile!

I saw Hip Hop Abs, with Shaun T, advertised on television and I decided I was going to give it a try. According to the advertisement, every Hip Hop Abs workout was supposed to concentrate on your core muscles; stomach and back, and that’s exactly what I was interested in. I had a nice “tire” right around my gut that desperately needed some focus. I ordered the Hip Hop Abs Basic DVD kit for $59.85 on March 26, 2008. I didn’t order it over the phone; I went directly to the website to place the order.

After placing the Hip Hop Abs Basic DVD kit in my shopping cart, there were several other screens that I had to go through before my checkout was complete. Beachbody, the distributor of Hip Hop Abs, has many other products that they try to sell while you’re checking out, but if you’re not interested in any of these additional items, all you have to do is click “no thanks”. It took a few minutes to finish checking out, but then I was done and my product was on order.

My bank account was charged once for Hip Hop Abs, it was the correct amount for the product and shipping expense. I then received Hip Hop Abs on April 1, 2008. So far, so good! I was pleased with the online shopping experience and the delivery of the merchandise.

The Hip Hop Abs Basic DVD kit came with 3 DVD cases with 4 different DVDs. The DVDs contain 5 different workouts and a special segment teaching the secrets of flat abs.

Here are the workouts that were included on the DVDs:

Fat Burning Cardio, 30 minutes

Ab Sculpt, 25 minutes

Total Body Burn, 45 minutes

Hips, Buns, and Thighs, 50 minutes

Last Minute Abs, 5 minutes

Secrets to Flat Abs, 15 minutesAlso included in the workout package were the following:

·.

· Step-by-step Nutrition Guide for everyday living.

·.

So now that we know all of the specifics of what you’ll actually get when ordering this package, let’s talk about results. Yes, I was somewhat skeptical of this program, as I am with any new program that I decide to try. But the only way to find out if it’s all it’s cut out to be is to give it a chance.

Without giving my weight away, let me just tell you that my midsection was fairly round when I started the program. When I sat down, I had a roll right under my chest, then another roll right under that, and another right under that – well, you get the picture. I started the exercise routines, without modifying my diet to see what would happen.

The first workout I tried was Ab Sculpt, for 25 minutes. The first few minutes into the workout I’m thinking “Wow, I’m too old to be trying to move like this!” I kept with it, not trying to over-do it, but just tried to accustom myself to the moves.

The next day my back and stomach were a little sore, but not uncomfortably so.

The next few days I experimented with different workouts and with each day into the workout, the moves got easier and my body started moving much more smoothly. Hey, I can still move like this!

I know you’re wondering at this point if it’s really working on my weight loss and core muscle training. I’ve been active in the program for 7 weeks now. The answer is an emphatic “yes”! I’ve lost several inches over my entire mid-section, but what’s really cool is; I’m starting to see definition in my upper and middle stomach area. My lower stomach area still needs more work, but I plan on continuing with Hip Hop Abs to melt the rest of the fat off. (….and if I wanted to get it done faster, I could eat much better 🙂

I’m really excited about Hip Hop Abs. I haven’t felt this good about a workout program for quite awhile. Shaun T is highly energetic, fun to workout with and the music has a great beat to keep you tilting, tucking and tightening!
