Clinique’s 7-Day Scrub Vs. Dr. Brandt’s Microdermabrasion in a Jar

Clinique, Microdermabrasion

Scrubs are a must for me. I just love having smooth skin that has been deep cleaned with much less flakes than before, using just one product. I have probably used about a dozen of those scrubs, but I wanted to compare the 4-day scrub by Clinique and Microdermabrasion in a Jar by Dr. Brandt side-by-side, because I feel that they have a lot in common and also because these two are on the top of their class. And, of course, they are what the scrubs should be.

First, the texture of the crystals is pretty much the same. They have very similar crystals in a semi-thick cream. I think that the Dr. Brandt’s Microdermabrasion in a Jar has smaller crystals, but they are both small and it’s hard to argue one way or another if one or another is better at the texture. The one thing that I do not like about these crystals is that they are scratchy and harsh. In, my opinion, they are both pretty harsh and I do not like either of them. If you do not like the crystals like me, you won’t like either of them.

I think that they smell very different. The Dr. Brandt’s one has a kind of citrusy fresh scent but Clinique’s 7 day scrub does not have added scent like other Clinique products. So, I think Clinique’s 7-day scrub is a little better in a sense that the added fragrance usually has negative effect on the skin. But, if you do not like such chemical scent of other Clinique’s products, you will like Dr. Brandt’s one better.

But, of course, the one thing that really matters are the results. For results, I like the Dr. Brandt’s microdermabrasion in a jar much better than Clinique’s. They feel the same as you are using them, but they have a big difference when it comes to a little thing called results. In Clinique’s, I did not feel that clean after using it and it did not get rid of all the dry patches or dead cells as far as I could tell. But in Dr. Brandt’s I saw great results. My face felt softer, most of the dry patches were gone and I was left with a fresh feeling afterwards. So, I would definitely choose Dr. Brandt’s over Clinique’s in quality and if I was looking for clear results.
Another thing that plays a big role is the price and Dr. Brandt’s is much more expensive than Clinique’s.

I actually did not know this until just now, but both of them are Allure-award winners. So, if you don’t believe me, on determining if these products are decent or not, just check out those awards.
