People young and old complain about their belly fat. No matter how you gained the belly fat, a proper diet and exercise will help you flatten that belly, as well as adding more of these fat busting foods.

Oatmeal is a belly fat busing food. Oatmeal is filled with fiber. When selecting oatmeal, you should choose plain oatmeal, then add things like fruit. Stay away from flavored varieties that can be sugary. Oatmeal stays in your stomach for hours, meaning you won’t be reaching for a doughnut or other foods that pack on the pounds.

Choose whole grain foods as they are filled with fiber. Be careful when shopping for whole grain foods like breads and cereals. Sometimes a product labeled wheat doesn’t have much if any of their fiber or nutrients left. You want foods with the label of whole grain or 100 percent whole grain.

Berries are filled with fiber. Who knew such a little berry could give us many benefits. Berries are also filled with vitamins and other good things we need. There is one catch to eating berries to bust belly fat, that’s eating them just as they are picked. Once you begin cooking a berry, the benefits are almost gone. Also, that berry jelly or jam on your toast don’t count either.

Green vegetables have a lot of healthy benefits to them. Green vegetables are packed with vitamins and minerals, as well as fat fighting benefits too. Green vegetables are loaded with fiber and best of all, very few calories. Go ahead and load up on the green vegetables. Be careful not to cook them much, as you’ll cook all the health benefits out.

Lean Meats and Fish are healthy. Turkey is the most lean meat. If you want to cut down on more fat, then choose fish, like Salmon and tuna. When your body is digesting protein, it is burning more calories then when your body is digesting carbs and fats.

Legumes and Beans are low calorie and packed with protein and fiber. Protein and fiber help tone up the body and lose weight. It’s a good idea to cut one meat meal out of your diet each week and replace it with a bean meal, such as burritos. When selecting beans you should choose pinto, black or other varieties of beans. Stay away from refried beans as they are high in fat.

Eat or drink your dairy each day. Dairy products contain calcium. Calcium will help break down your fat, as well as prevent it from forming all together. When picking dairy products be sure to pick low fat or no fat versions.

All natural peanut butter is packed with niacin. Niacin helps the digestive system stay on track and prevents belly bloat. Peanut butter has a lot of fat in it, make sure you’re eating less then two tablespoons a day.

When cooking choose an Olive or Canola Oil. Canola and Olive Oil have monounsaturated fats in them. Everyone needs a little fat in their diet. Also, they help keep your cholesterol under control and help satisfy those fatty food cravings. When selecting a cooking oil, you should stay away from hydrogenated vegetable oils.

For those people without cholesterol problems, eggs are a good belly fat busting food. Eggs contain vitamin B12. B12 helps your body metabolize fat. A Louisiana State study compared people who ate bagels to people who ate eggs every day for breakfast. The people who ate eggs lost more weight then the people eating a bagel for breakfast.

A study done by Purdue University found that people who ate nuts felt full longer. This study was done comparing people who ate rice cakes versus nuts. Just 24 almonds a day will keep you feeling satisfied without adding tons of extra calories. When selecting nuts, you should stay away from salted nuts. Sodium can cause water retention and weight gain in some. Also, sodium will raise blood pressure.

Drinking Iced Tea or Green Tea will help you burn belly fat. Teas are rich in antioxidants that have been proven to speed up metabolism. It’s recommended to enjoy four cups of tea each day.
