Maintain or Lose Weight Without Exercise, Giving Up Favorite Foods, or Using a Fad Diet!

Calorie Calculator

As a mother of 4 I have learned how to maintain my weight and lose weight all without exercising and still being able to eat all the foods that I want! It is, surprisingly, extremely simple. If you, too, are interested in losing or learning how to maintain your weight without giving up your favorite foods or needing to exercise, read on!

Most of my life I have not struggled with my weight. After having children and getting older I found that I needed to figure out how to lose a few pounds and, at the very least, how to maintain my weight. I wasn’t sure how to or where to start so I decided to figure it out and want to teach everyone else how to as well!

It turns out that everything they say is true: to lose weight all you need to do is make sure not to intake excess calories in a day. That’s it! It feels like a trick, almost. All my life I thought it couldn’t be that simple, but it is. When you consume more calories than your body uses, you gain weight. So to start your weight loss/maintenance story you need to do a few simple things.

The first thing you need to do is figure how many calories a day you should intake. How many calories you can have in a day depends on a few things unique to you and your lifestyle. It sounds intimidating trying to figure out your calorie intake, however, I found this website (http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm) that does it all for you! You simply enter your age, gender, weight, height, and how much you currently exercise (you may enter little/no exercise).

The calculator then tells you how many calories a day you are allowed to have to maintain your current weight, to gradually lose weight, and to achieve extreme fat loss. Next, you need to start looking at the calories in everything you eat. For me, this made all the difference. I quickly learned foods to avoid, as some foods give me most of my daily allowance in one sitting. I have also learned simple things to swap out such as fat free sour cream vs regular sour cream and lite butter vs regular butter. Things like that make a huge difference! Calories add up very quickly without us noticing.

I can have about 1750 calories a day to maintain my weight. I use all of those calories wisely and try to aim for less! I have learned to just stop buying food I know will be tempting for me. I have also learned the snacks/candy that has a large portion size for the calories it gives.

Keep in mind when you work out you burn calories, and the more muscle you have the easier it is for your body to burn fat so there is plenty of reason to work out as well (you can eat more or lose weight faster/easier and it tones you up!).

You can still eat candy, desserts, pop, and not exercise you just need to learn how to do it in moderation and pay attention to how many calories you are taking in compared to how many calories your body is burning.
