After viewing the so called documentary “The 9/11 Conspiracies: Fact or Fiction” I was whole heartedly disappointed at the incredible slant the History Channel gave to the official story of the events of 9/11. It was just despicable in the way the “documentary” was set up to make the conspiracy scenario look like it has no merit and never did. I tuned in expecting to see a professional and fair back and forth opinion and rebuttal session with evidence from both sides and with both viewpoints given fair and balanced opportunity to be expressed. What I saw was anything but that.
First of all, the kept emphasizing that everyone who appeared on camera with questions about 9/11 was a “CONSPIRACY THEORIST” now you may say “well thats what they are” but no thats not the case. A theory is a belief supported by no or very little evidence the second there is evidence presented to support a belief it is no longer a theory it is now a plausible alternative possibility. But that did not stop the history channel from smearing the term CONSPIRACY THEORIST on every person that was speaking out to support the story that was not the official one regardless of their credentials.
Next every time a piece of evidence was presented for debate the screen would turn black then suddenly white letters would appear that said CONSPIRACY THEORY with very ominous music playing in the background. Then one of the proponents of the conspiracy argument would speak and it seemed like they were dressed to look crazy. Many of them looked like they were in t-shirts or have not shaved with a kind of a basement backdrop etc. Then the screen would turn black again with the white letters appearing now saying “EXPERT RESPONSE” and calming music playing in the background. Next you see a very distinguished looking “expert” with an office backdrop gives a nice version of the official story. It just seems to me that the whole way of the “documentary” was set up to not just debunk the alternative view but totally destroy the credibility of anyone that believes it or presents evidence to substantiate it.
This history channel program was so slanted to one side it was damn near upside down. This is coming from someone who has been a long time History channel fan by the way. But this program has soured me on the history channel and also has given even more credibility to the conspiracy viewpoint due to the fact that they had to make this program so slanted just to hold such a view back. They also stooped to childish name calling from the so called “experts” to the conspiracy proponents. And the last ten minutes of the program was just a montage of conspiracy proponents basically shouting like mad men at people that support the official story which was obviously an attempt to make the viewer think they are all crazy along with lines from “experts” saying things like “the things these people have in common is that they are self centered and need to convince themselves they have the answer. I was floored by the way this program was so unfairly formatted.
It is no secret that I have been critical of the official 9/11 story but I have a respect for anyone who can listen to the conspiracy view and the official view and still side with official view without name calling and based only on the evidence. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY NOT THE HISTORY CHANNEL and this disgusting piece of propaganda should have never been passed off as a fair examination of the facts. Especially since it ignored many of the smoking gun elements the conspiracy proponents have upheld such as President Bush’s statements following 9/11 about seeing the planes hit the tower when it was not possible at the time because footage of the first plane did not air until days after the attacks. No the “documentary” never touched that one instead it focused on some of the weaker arguments and when they did attack stronger ones they still did no do so adequately but tried to convince to viewer with alot of “Expert” labels and thick terminology. SHAME ON THE HISTORY CHANNEL AND THE MAKERS OF THIS PROPAGANDA FILM.
