“Special K Protein Plus” Satisfies Low-Carb Dieters

Special K

I absolutely love cereal. I like to eat it for breakfast, and I enjoy dry cereal as a healthy alternative to salty and sugary snacks. However, I do try to adhere to a low-carb diet as much as possible, and many cereals are extremely high in carbohydrates That’s why I was so thrilled when I found out that Kellogg’s was making a high protein, low-carb version of its popular cereal “Special K.” The cereal is called “Special K Protein Plus.”

I first tried “Special K Protein Plus” about two years ago when I was working out a lot and eating a very strict, high-protein, low-carb diet. Being a vegetarian, it is sometimes difficult to an abundance of protein, but when I picked up the box of “Special K Protein Plus,” I was pleasantly surprised to find that the cereal contained 10 grams of protein per ¾ cup serving.

This cereal is also lower in carbs than most of the other cereals on the market. Per serving, “Special K Protein Plus” has only 14 grams of carbohydrates. The cereal is low in fat and calories, too. Three quarters of a cup of this cereal only contains 100 calories and 3 grams of fat. There is also plenty of healthy fiber—5 grams. A serving also contains 320 milligrams of Potassium! Special K Protein Plus” also stacks up to other popular cereals with plenty of vitamins and minerals to help supplement your daily intake.

In addition to the health benefits of “Special K Protein Plus,” this cereal also tastes good! Made from soy, wheat, and rice ingredients, this version of Special K does not taste anything like the original “Special K,” but it is tasty in its own unique way. Special K Protein Plus has a slight cinnamon taste that is not too sweet, but enough to give it some flavor so that you don’t really need to add any sugar or artificial sweetener to it when eating it with milk. It’s also really crunchy, unlike the original Special K which is light and crispy.

I highly recommend “Special K Protein Plus” for anyone who would like to enjoy a cereal with fewer carbohydrates than other cereals and a higher protein content. Plus, this cereal is made with soy, yet it doesn’t cost as much as the other soy based cereals on the market. “Special K Protein Plus” is great for breakfast or just as a crunchy snack, so be sure to pick up a box and give it a try!
