Kellogg’s Low Fat Granola Cereal Review

Granola, kellogg's, Low Fat

Health
This Low Fat Granola Cereal is healthier than many other Kellogg’s brand varieties. It was a pleasant surprise to find out that this breakfast food is loaded with vitamins and minerals. Kellogg’s Low Fat Granola Cereal has 230 calories, 3 grams of fat and one gram of saturated fat. The breakfast item does not contain any cholesterol and is low in sodium. Kellogg’s Low Fat Granola Cereal has low amounts of fiber and protein.

It also contains 49 grams of carbohydrates and 18 grams of sugar. When reading the nutrition facts, I noticed that there is a long list of nutritional benefits in this Granola product. The Kellogg’s cereal has 100% Folic Acid, Vitamin B6 and Vitamin B12. It also contains 25% Vitamin E and Zinc with 10% Vitamin D, Magnesium and Iron. Kellogg’s Low Fat Granola Cereal also has 15% Vitamin A but is low in Calcium and Vitamin C.

Quality
Kellogg’s Low Fat Granola Cereal has large pieces of granola, and other grains. It also contains raisins and almonds. After purchasing this breakfast food, I noticed a heavy amount of seasoning on the granola. It is blended with small grains that look like Rice Krispies. There were large clusters of granola in the Kellogg’s cereal box.

However, I found that most of the granola cereal was comprised of small and loose pieces. It does not take much of Kellogg’s Low Fat Granola Cereal to satisfy your hunger. Texture is one disadvantage of this cereal. It is very hard and does not even get soft when placed in milk. That can make is difficult for some men and women to chew.

Price
There are dozens of less expensive options than Kellogg’s Low Fat Granola Cereal. I purchased this breakfast food for around $4.59 at a grocery store. Many retail and grocery locations do not sell Kellogg’s Low Fat Granola Cereal. The options seem to focus more on other popular Kellogg’s Varieties. This product will increase your shopping expenses if you have to feed an entire family. You may be able to save $1 on the granola cereal using a variety of store discounts.

Taste Test
The granola in this Kellogg’s Cereal has a strong honey flavor. I was still aware of the granola flavor even after finishing a bowl of this cereal. While Kellogg’s Low Fat Granola Cereal does not taste bad, I have purchased better products. There are other brands that have better quality flavors than Kellogg’s Low Fat Granola Cereal. It is just way too strong and made it seem like I was eating a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch during some moments.

Verdict
Kellogg’s Low Fat Granola Cereal is so hard and covered with seasoning or honey that some of it can stick to your teeth. It can be a great alternative to afternoon or late night snacks that may cause you to gain a lot of weight. However, Kellogg’s Low Fat Granola is too dry to eat alone, even as a snack. You will need a glass of water or juice to accompany the product. This Kellogg’s product is very sweet and would not be my first choice for low fat granola.
