One of the Hartford, Connecticut grocery stores where I regularly shop, recently began stocking Friendly’s Sundaes To Go. These small, ice cream sundaes are smaller versions of the tasty ice cream sundaes served at Friendly’s Restaurants, an east coast restaurant chain that is known for its delicious ice cream.
So far, I have eaten three different varieties of these frozen sundaes and enjoyed eating eating each one immensely. Presented here, in an effort to assist the consumer, is one food writer’s product review of Friendly’s Sundaes To Go Cups.
Size The net weight of most of the Friendly’s Original Fudge Sundae Cups ranges between 119 grams and 133 grams. Each variety of sundae counts as one serving, which I think is a realistic serving size. In physical size, these sundae cups are not too big and not too small and they require little storage space in one’s freezer.
Price The regular retail price charged for one Friendly’s Sundaes To Go cup at Hartford, Connecticut area supermarkets is approximately $1. I think that this price is very reasonable, especially when the high quality of Friendly’s products is taken into consideration. In my opinion, these sundae cups are a great value.

Made with nougat ice cream, this variety also features chocolate chips, chocolate covered peanuts, plus fudge and caramel toppings.
Reese’s Pieces Sundae Cup
This Friendly’s Sundaes To Go option is made with vanilla ice cream that is studded with pieces of Reese’s Pieces candy. Delicious fudge topping and peanut sauce also co-star in this sundae.
Jim Dandy Sundae Cup
Friendly’s Jim Dandy Sundae Cup is a delightful concoction made with banana strawberry ice cream. The ice cream is covered with chocolate fudge, whipped cream, marshmallow topping, walnuts and chocolate “Jimmies”, or sprinkles.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Sundae Cup
Vanilla ice cream, loaded with pieces of cookie dough and chocolate chips, is topped with chocolate fudge, whipped cream and more chocolate chips in this sundae.

All of the ice cream varieties are delicious on their own, but the chocolate fudge topping, peanut sauce and whipped cream add another dimension of flavor to the products. The various add ins, such as peanuts, caramel, candy and walnuts are also very tasty.
Packaging Friendly’s Sundaes To Go are packaged in round, cardboard cups that have cardboard covers. Most of the varieties feature red labels with close up illustrations of the enclosed sundaes on the front and a listing of all relevant ingredient and nutritional information. The two Reese’s inspired varieties sport orange labels.
Overall Rating All things considered, Friendly’s Sundaes To Go Cups are very tasty ice cream sundaes that are made with high quality ingredients. These frozen sundaes are inexpensively priced and are conveniently packaged. Highly recommended.
