Pregnancy is a special time in a womans’ life. Nine months of preparations, pains, concerns, joys and memories all end in a new life to care for.

The knowledgeable staff and advanced technologies are able to care for a wide variety of situations that may arise in a woman’s lifetime. The hospital is known for deliverying babies.
When a woman comes into the hospital during her pregnancy, she will first be seen in the triage area of the emergency entrance. After being triaged, she is sent back to the Maternity Emergency Room where she will be evaluated and cared for by caring and experienced staff. In the emergency room there are fetal monitors and other types of necessary equipment to assess the mother and baby. If you are not in labor and both baby and mom look okay, you will be cared for and released in a timely manner. If you are in labor or need to be admitted for another reason, you will be provided a spacious private room on the labor unit. Once in a room, a friendly nurse will assist you with your progress and continue to monitor you and your baby. The hospital has anesthesiologists on site to administer any type of pain relief that may be desired. There is also an onsite pharmacy. All rooms are equipped with a birthing chair, a couch that folds out into a bed, cabinets and drawers for personal belongings and a spacious bathroom stocked with necessary hygienic items. Housekeeping comes daily to clean the room and empty the trash. Once a mother has delivered her baby, the baby is given hospital bracelets for identity and security purposes. From the labor room she is sent to the mother/baby unit. On this unit, you will find nurses that are trained to care for both mom and baby. They are available to assist you with breastfeeding, bottle feeding, diaper changes, circumcision care and any other type of care you may need. Lactation consultants are also avaialble to answer any breastfeeding questions or concerns. Your nurse will continue to monior you as well during your stay. With doctors permission, you are allowed to take the baby for a stroll around the hospital, as long as the baby stays in the bassinet. The hospital has very strict rules for safety of the baby. Staff that are allowed to transport your baby to and from the nursery, MUST have a baby safe carrier tag on.
If a baby is born prematurely or needs advanced medical care, there is a NICU onsite at the hospital that is equipped to handle everything except for fetal heart surgery. Specially trained nurses and doctors are able to provide care to babies. Parents are encouraged to assist as much as possible and visit their babies.
Meals are provided to women once they have delivered their babies. Snacks, juice, milk and water availabe upon request and your nurse can get these for you. There is a cafeteria on the lower level also.
Visitors are encouraged to come to the hospital during visitation hours. You are allowed to have overnight guests in the room with you. The hospital encourages siblings to be a part of the visitation.
