High School Prom, How to Lose 10 Pounds

It was two weekends before my high school prom. I had put on a little bit of weight and was having trouble zipping my gown. I needed to lose 10 pounds and lose it fast, too. I had two weeks before the big prom, and I had my mind set that the weight was coming off. I had to come up with a plan to successfully lose the weight and lose it fast. I came up with a plan, and on my prom night I looked beautiful.

The first step I had to take was get rid of all of my junk food which included; Chips, Dip, Freezer fast meals, Frozen Pizzas, Candy, and Snacks. I did not eat any of those foods including other junk food for two weeks. I even gave away drinks; my soda, concentrated drinks, and everything other than water. The only beverage that I drank in those two weeks was water. I ate, but ate modestly. Only enough to fill me up. I did not overindulge. I ate actual servings, which is about a cup of the separated items. I ate well balanced meals from the five food groups. I had no junk foods, and for snacks I had either a vegetable or a fruit. When I got thirsty I drank water.

The second step is I became more active. I joined the gym, and started working out at least an hour a day. I wanted to lose the weight fast for a short term occasion and after the two weeks I would change to 45 minutes a day, 3 days a week in the gym. This was only short term, I could not keep up the hectic gym visits after the two weeks, although I would continue going only for shorter periods and half of the days. I even did simple things, I took the stairs instead of the elevator. I walked that few extra steps to the door instead of cutting through the grass. I cleaned the house more often. I walked if i was going somewhere close. That alone made me feel so much better along with losing weight. By this time I had lost 6 pounds, and I had only been doing this for 10 days.

The third step that I took was sleeping. I made sure to sleep eight hours every night. Most of the time i would only sleep for about 5 hours. I would stay up until 3 in the morning and get up at 8 for school. Sleeping does not seem as if it would actually help in the weight lose, however, it does because when a body is rested it functions better, therefore making your metabolism better. It is very important to get enough sleep.

Combined all of those things made me lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks/14 days. On the night of my prom, I walked in and looked beautiful. My date was astonished at how pretty I looked. i had toned up successfully, and felt wonderful. The two week program worked. If it can work for me it can work for anyone.
