The non-profit organization “Fairy Godmothers” hosts an event every year called The Cinderella’s Boutique. This is a place where you can get free prom dresses donated from all over Columbus, Ohio. These dresses are in-style and donated by high school students from over 90 local schools. Last year they had 1,200 prom dresses gifted from nearly 450 students.
Only junior and senior high school students are eligible to receive a free prom dress from The Cinderella’s Boutique. When you arrive, each student must fill out a short application and provide proof that they are a current student. This could be in the form of a valid student ID card, driver’s license, or even a report card. Once the student has completed this, they get a personal “Godmother” helper who will assist them to find the perfect prom dress. There is absolutely no charge for the prom dress and the prom dress is yours to keep.
Sizes of the prom dresses range from 0 to plus sizes and everything in between. Because these prom dresses are donated, you may be limited on the style of the dress available in your size.

DEB stores have been a popular store for prom dresses for many years. DEB stores are geared towards junior and young adult styles, as well as providing the same styles in plus sizes. There are many prom dress styles to choose from including: Tea Length Party Dress, Sleek and Sophisticated, Black Tie Ballgowns, and Bridal, and Plus Prom.

Bridal style prom dresses at DEB are either pure white, white with a touch of red, or white with a touch of black. There are many different styles when it comes to the bridal prom dress. At DEB, these type prom dress range from $90 to $180.

Sears department stores have a good variety of prom dresses in a reasonable price range. You can find just about every style from short, above the knee prom dresses, to floor length prom dresses. Sears also offers a wide color range of prom dresses. Many of the prom dresses Sears offers could be later used for other formal events such as formal fundraisers or formal dates on the town.
Prices for the prom dresses at Sears range from $80 to $180. Most of these prom dresses come in sizes 1 to about 11, but some styles are available in plus sizes.

Macy’s stores are another great place to find prom dresses in many different styles, sizes, and prices. They carry prom dresses from Johnny Martin, La Belle, Love Tease, Ruby Rox, Trixxi, and XOXO. Sizes range from small to Large in some brands, and 1 to 13 in other brands. Prices range from $58 to $78 regular cost. Macy’s does offer weekly specials in which you may find a prom dress at a lower cost.
