Dr Oz’s Two Week Diet Plan

Diet Plans, Dr Oz, Dr. Oz Show, The Dr. Oz Show

Ready to lose that belly fat? This morning, Dr Oz revealed his diet plan for the new year on the Dr. Oz Show. By following his two week diet plan, you can expect to lose weight, live longer and just feel better!

Before you begin this plan, measure your waist line. Dr Oz says that a person’s waist measurement should be no more than half of one’s height measurement. Any more than that, you are carrying excess belly fat.

Day One – Eliminate the foods from your refrigerator that cause belly fat.

Eliminate simple sugars and syrups, white flour, saturated fats (4-legged animals) and trans fats (any packaged foods that list “partially hydrogenated fats” in the first 5 ingredients).

Day Two – Get good walking shoes.

This one is simple – get off the couch and walk off a few calories; even if it’s just 100 calories per day.

Day Three – Automate your meals

Become more conscious of what you are putting on your plate. The average dinner plate is 12- inches. Typically, we cover the entire plate with food, so Dr Oz suggests replacing that 12- inch plate with a 9- inch plate. And each night, that dinner plate should contain protein, whole grains and greens.

Day Four – Is your environment hurting or helping?

You need positive emotional support. If you aren’t getting this support in the home, look to a good friend who will encourage you when things get tough.

Day Five – Cheat your taste buds

Dr Oz tells us that eating spices with breakfast, such as cinnamon or red pepper, makes us eat less for lunch.

Day Six – Call your doctor

Schedule an exam. Eliminate the possibility of a medical condition causing weight gain.

Day Seven – Go public with your diet plan

Let your friends and family know about your diet. You are less likely to eat foods that cause weight gain in public with everyone watching.

Day Eight – Repeat

Measure again your shrinking waist. Repeat all steps. You’re on your way to a healthier you!

I, for one, am anxious to begin Dr Oz’s weight loss plan. Although my waistline is less than half my height, I am not doing my heart and liver any favors with my poor eating habits. So, I’m going to turn my back on the saturated fats in my fridge that await the frying pan, and tossing out (crying now) all the simple sugars and syrups. Instead of eating a hot fudge sundae tonight, I’ll be eating a snack that Dr Oz suggests… a rice cake, spread with natural peanut butter, topped with raisins. I can do it!
