My sister loves her dance workout DVDs. She is a runner and whenever it is too cold out or pouring rain she grabs one of her dance workout DVDs and sweats and dances to burn off calories and stay in shape. She is a perfect size eight, sometimes six depending on the cut, so something is definitely working for her.

I respect her deeply for her dedication and consistency in being able to exercise as she does five days a week while working and she has five children. Or maybe she’s just insane, she would say it’s a little bit of both. So I talked with my sister about her five favorite dance DVDs and why she like them so much.

Dance Workout DVDs #1

At the top of her list is a favorite by Denise Austin, Fat Burning Dance Mix. This one has great variety with four different routines that let you decide how long you want to workout from 15 minutes to over an hour. The variety helps to keep you interested and sit’s a great workout. The Club Funk, 10 minutes, is the best of the routines as it really gets the heart rate up and the music is the best, then try the Latin Groove for another 10 minutes. The Ballet Sculpt segment is a little slow and takes fifteen minutes but it is good for toning. The Jazz and Pop routine is alright, but the music is not the best. There is also a five minute warm-up and cool down routine. This DVD is a steal at just $10.49.

Dance Workout DVDs #2

The 10 Minute Solution, Fat Blasting Dance Mix is a great workout in a fairly short period of time for just $9. Each dance segment is just ten minutes long and focus on different parts of the body. There are three segments that are completely about building endurance and cardio training. There are then two toning segments one for the behind area and another for abdominals. It takes just under an hour to do the full workout

Dance Workout DVDs #3

The Fat-Burning Kickboxing Workout for Dummies DVD is great to do even the first time you use it. There are these wonderful pop-ups that help the newbie, like me, make the dance moves easy to follow. Even better it tells me that if I do the full hour I can burn over 700 calories and all that for only $9.99.

Dance Workout DVDs #4

The Dance Off the Inches: Fat Burning Jam DVD is one that my sister does when she is tired of doing the others. It’s a very good 45-minute DVD that only costs you between $6 and $9. It is fun and the dance moves are easy to learn and the music keeps you moving along with Michelle Dozois.

Final choice for Dance DVDs is Prevention Fitness Systems – Dance Yourself Thin. for $12.99 from Amazon. This DVD has some very high-energy moves that get your heart rate up fast. She likes this one because it is from the reputable Prevention Magazine and there are multiple 15 minute routines that are fun to do and allows you to decide how long you want your workout to be.
