BDSM 101 – Training Methods

Reward Systems, Submissive

I have already written a few articles on training and on specific training tools, discussing them in more depth. I want to make it easy for a new dominant to see all the training tools at his or her disposal at a glance. I will give short descriptions and why these tools are used so often in training. If you are more interested in individual tools, you may go and look up the individual articles devoted to these.

Discipline and punishment:

Discipline and punishment is used to correct conscious as well as unconscious mistakes made by a slave or submissive in the training process. These tools are also used to help prevent any recurrences of the mistakes made by the slave or submissive. It can take various forms as has been discussed in two articles on these tools. The links to both of these are as follows: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/925449/discipline_versus_punishment_in_the.html?cat=7

Written Assignments:

Written assignments help both parties to get to know each other and will help the dominant understand the submissives needs and training needs more effectively. They are also a tool to help the submissive grow and to help both communicate more effectively. Written assignments also serve as a type of punishment to help a submissive remember requirements more effectively. There is another article that I wrote, describing the possibilities of this type of training tool. The link is as follows:

The contract:

Even though not all couples have contracts, the contract itself will help the training process along as it shows the submissive’s understanding of the dominant’s needs and requirements and will help her or him remember the consequences should he or she fail to meet those needs. It also defines the limits during and after training and protects both parties. The contract is also discussed in detail in another article. The article can be found on my CP page.

Outside training courses:

Courses like etiquette, cooking, tea service, make up application, massage etc will help with training too. These needs will be identified during the negotiation process and should become clear during the training process. The dominant must make sure that the goals are set properly and that a schedule is followed and that follow up testing occurs as he or she pleases.

Bondage:

Tying up a submissive can help them move into subspace and a type of meditation. The dominant can specify the goal of alone time for a submissive and test him or her after the period of meditation to see what insights the submissive has gained. The dominant can also use floggers, paddles, canes, whips etc to help a submissive achieve certain training goals – remember this is not the discipline and punishment we were talking about before.

Regular testing:

Testing the submissive or slave regularly during the training process will help to measure the achievement of set goals within the scheduled training period. The dominant need not notify the submissive that some skill will be tested and should communicate the results to the submissive after the test. Rewards should be given for good performance and discipline for weak performance.

Positions and Voice Training:

These are all the positions and voice commands you can teach your slave. These positions ensure that the slave is constantly in slave space and remembers his or her place during and after the training. It is one of the first things you will use to train your slave. There are other methods like capitalizing on the fear of a submissive or slave to force obedience, but this only works to the extent that the submissive does something to avoid a negative consequence. Teaching a submissive through consequence and reward systems will get that same submissive to do something because him or her want only to please the dominant.

Good luck with the training. May your ventures be fruitful and may you have a delightful relationship with your submissive.
