7 Tips for Losing Body Fat Permanently

Crash Dieting, Lose 20 Pounds, Lose Body Fat

For most of us, losing body fat is a long term goal, but the trick is not only losing body fat, but losing body fat and keeping that extra weight off for good. I mean, of what use is it if you lose 65 pounds this month, only to gain back 85 pounds in two months time? Sounds ludicrous, right? but that’s exactly what happens to a lot of people who “successfully” lose body fat. below I’ll give you 7 tips to make your fat loss permanent.

1. Crash Diets Don’t Have a Lasting Impact

What happens when you lose body fat rapidly, with a crash diet is that your body is actually shedding only carbohydrate and water alone. Your body responds to a crash diet by assuming that you are starving, and as you can remember from your high school Biology class, when the human body thinks its starving, it automatically reduces the body’s metabolism rate, and as a result, it burns calories at a slower rate than it normally does.

An even worse consequence of going on a crash diet, is that when you switch back to your regular diet, your body (which is still locked in preservation mode) starts storing food in your body, in preparation for the next possible starvation period. As a result of this, Crash Dieting does not lead to long term weight loss success.

2. Eat This, Not That

Instead of attempting (usually without success) to give up foods, you really can’t live without, try finding low-fat replacements, and as a matter of fact, you might even find low fat alternatives that taste even better than the original, talk about killing two birds with one stone.

3. Have a Positive Can-Do Attitude

Have a positive attitude, and no matter what you do, Never give in to self-criticism.

4. Be Choosy About The Kind of Drinks You Take

You can lose 20 pounds in a two month period alone, simply by switching to diet soda or even cutting out soda completely.

With the possible exception of wine at about 80-90 calories a glass, most alcoholic drinks are fattening, and should be avoided.

5. You Need To Do That Exercise

Sound scary? don’t worry, when I’m talking about exercising, I’m not saying you have to sign up at your local gym and start lifting dumbells (though it would obviously be very beneficial if you could), I’m talking about simple exercises, it could be anything from a gentle walk or a 15-minute jog, you could even take up regular swimming. Walking, jogging, and swimming are excellent alternatives weight lifting or aerobics.

6. When You are Full, Stop Eating.

Make a conscious effort to stop eating when you are full, and also try to eat your foods more slowly.

7. Never Give Up

That’s probably the single most important tip, no matter what happens, never give up, there are times you will get discouraged, it happens, the important thing is never to lose hope, and to keep yourself motivated.

So there you have it, a few quick tips to help make your fat loss permanent, just remember, when it comes to losing body fat everything depends on you, so stay motivated, stay dedicated, and good luck in your journey to losing body fat permanently.
