Volunteers take meals to these citizens and offer them assistance if the patron needs help cutting their meal. Volunteers can also help prepare food, clean up and sometimes do data entry. Volunteer Opportunities in Sunnyvale, California #4: Support Network for Battered Women

The Support Network for Battered Women is located at 1257 Tasman Drive, Suite C, Sunnyvale, CA 94089. Women who have been abused and battered come to this organization for help. If you can commit to a long term position, you can be trained to be a counselor for battered women. If you can only come in for a short amount of time, you can volunteer by doing research, creating documents, data entry, forms & flyers, transporting items, etc. For more information, call (408) 541-6100, extension 117.

Sunnyvale Community Services has several volunteer opportunities available. If you like to knit, crochet and make other homemade items, then you might want to sign up with the SCS Auxiliary. Volunteers for Bag People of SCS bag up food every month to give to needy families and senior citizens. Lobby Administrators give information about the Sunnyvale Community Programs, refer and register families for programs. Hotel Collectors collect hotel soaps/shampoos/etc while on vacation to give to the homeless. Community Christmas Center volunteers give families a two week supply of food and a new gift at Christmas. Food/Gift drive volunteers work with their school/church/or other group to raise food and gifts for the Sunnyvale Community Services.
