Where to Volunteer in Nashville, Tennessee #1: Nashville Rescue Mission

The Nashville Rescue Mission is located at 639 Lafayette Street Nashville, TN 37203. Volunteers are needed to help prepare meals, serve meals and cleanup after meals. Also the Rescue Mission needs volunteers who will give presentations and speeches on their behalf. You can help the Rescue Mission teachers with tutoring and mentoring. Gilda’s Club is a place where people with cancer and their family can come to for support, activities and more. There is a need for the following: Clinical Volunteers (you do have to be a licensed professional such as a social worker or therapist. You’ll be networking and helping members come up with a membership plan), Noogieland Volunteers (you’ll work with children who have cancer or are the children of someone with cancer), Clubhouse Volunteers (help out at special events, answer phones, mailings, cleaning, etc) and much more. If you’d like to volunteer, you must fill out and submit an application. They will them send you a volunteer newsletter and a program calendar. The American Red Cross is located at 2201 Charlotte Ave Nashville, TN 37203. The Red Cross is well known for rushing aid to those affected by disaster. Volunteers are needed to help on a daily basis. As a volunteer, you can help with fundraisers, client interaction or if you prefer something more behind the scenes you can volunteer in the office (data entry, phones, etc).
