Like buffets? Well, if you’re like me, you love them. I usually can’t get enough at a buffet line, no matter what type of food is being prepared. So I was in for a special treat when I visited the Golden Corral Buffet.
The Golden Corral restaurant chain opened back in 1973 in Fayetteville, NC. The restaurant is a family-oriented place. We decided to go on a Thursday, and opted to get there early, around 4. Still, the place was bustling with customers. We had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated, but thats still not a bad wait for a busy restaurant. You go through a line where you pay first, get your tray and silverware, and the hostess gets your drinks for you. As soon as your seated you go up to the buffet line.
One of the best features of the buffet is the great Steak Buffet featuring “all-you-can-eat” sirloin steak. The steaks are USDA inspected and are grilled to order for you. And thats not the only menu items that are cooked to order at the restaurant. Try a variety of meats, including grilled chicken, pork, salmon steaks , steak burgers and sausage.
The buffet includes such a wide variety of different foods that you won’t know where to begin! Start out at the fresh salad bar, where you can pile on a salad made from fresh vegetables and crisp lettuce. Try some of the cold salads while you’re there. Potato salad, cole slaw, macaroni salad and tuna salad are just a few. Don’t forget to get your fill of fresh fruit while you’re there.
On to the soup and salad bar where you can get many kinds of soup, changed daily. Or grab a baked potato, twice baked potato, or some steamed vegetables. Make sure to grab some crackers!
The hot buffet also includes a huge selection of scrumptious items. Choose from the many choices of fresh vegetables, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, corn-on-the cob, and much more. Try some fried shrimp, fish, baked cod, or steamed whitefish. Grab some hot ham, fried chicken, spare ribs, meatloaf, and barbecued pork, just to name a few. And the Golden Corral offers many choices for the kids. Fill a plate with kid-friendly favorites such as pizza, french fries, spaghetti, macaroni and cheese and chicken tenders, just to name a few!
Hope you saved room for dessert! The Golden Corral has the most amazing dessert selection you have ever seen! Choose from a variety of pies, apple, cherry, or lemon. Grab a slice of cake, chocolate pudding, chocolate chess pie, or shadow cake. Try some ice cream with sprinkles, nuts, candy, and more for toppings. The deserts are freshly made and abundant.
