Grilled barbecue chicken is one of my favorite recipes. I prefer to use bone in chicken to keep the tenderness. You can use which ever pieces you like best. The first thing to do is coat your chicken in honey and light brown sugar. This will add a tangy flavor. This tastes best when done approximately half an hour before cooking. It is also nice to add some crushed red peppers and black pepper to the seasoning. Go ahead and preheat your grill. (This can be done on any grill, but if you are using large pieces it may be times consuming on an indoor grill. I prefer this recipe with a propane grill.) The sauce for this recipe is fairly easy. You take one jar of honey and one jar of traditional store bought barbecue sauce in any brand and add brown sugar and honey to taste. Then, add pepper and crush red peppers into the sauce. You will need to heat the sauce to properly combine all ingredients. Next throw your chicken on the grill and cook for ten minutes on each side. After the brown sugar has liquefied and bonded to the chicken add some of the sauce on each side. Turn the chicken every three minutes and reapply sauce. This recipe is excellent served with corn on the cob and a fresh salad.
