It is not enough to have been a teen girl. I have sampled some very wise teen girls from nieces to friends’ teens to come up with the following list of gifts for teen girls 12-15.
Sweater, Shirt, Legging Ensemble
The Sandra Baby Doll sweater by Delia’s is totally cute. It comes in gray and all the girls I talked to said it was really in. It is scoop neck and cap sleeves. It is a long sweater and goes to about mid-calf. It sells for $32.50. There are numerous blouses and shirts that go well with this neutral color. The Star Mango Shirt is perfect underneath the Baby Doll sweater. It has off-white with star like designs in dark pink. There is also a really cute gray pattern by Delia’s that is a great muted contrast with the gray sweater. Both shirts cost $30 if you buy two. Otherwise, the shirts are $22.50. I would get the bow leggings as an accessory and the cost is $10.50. Delia’s is a great place to shop for teen girls.
Pink Plaid Back Pack
A new back pack by JanSport The Woolly Bugger Super Break is in pink plaid and totally cool. It has one large compartment and convenient compartments for organizing girl stuff. It measures 16.75″ by 13″ by 8.5.” It is the cutest back pack on the market. Any girl from 12 to 15 will absolutely love it. It sells for less than $40.
Birth Stone Personalized Ring
Every teen girl I have spoken with includes my nieces’ love this “Initially Your,” personalized birth stone ring. It is designed for teen girls, but adults like it also. It has sterling silver rosettes on a stretchable durable elastic band that will fit all sizes.
In the center is the teen’s initial and it is adorned with two crystal stones in your choice of colors. You can select your teen’s favorite color or birth stone. It is made by Swarofski and sells at Personalization Mall.com. The cost is $22.95.
French Pointelle Bobbie Winter Hat
Nordstrom’s has several new winter knitted caps that are awesome. The French Pointelle Bobbie Winter cap is the one my nieces selected. It is a close-knit design and has several pom poms cascading around 36 inches. The new design is totally for today teens. The colors are winter white, fig (autumn orange) and Machiatto (dusk brown). The hat is beautifully made and a French import. It sells reasonably at $18 at all Nordstrom stores.
Zano Pink Nano MP3 Player
Creative Labs Zen Nano Pink MP3 Player is the best buy at all the discount stores. It has a hard drive. The durability of the product is rated high by users and it is attractive. It has 512 MB of memory, but has advanced features like skip free good quality sound. The player allows you to hear MP3 downloads as well as music radio stations. The quality and durability of the product make it an outstanding buy at $69.95. It is available at Wal-Mart.
Wilson’s Hope Perfect Pack Racquetball Set
Dick’s Sporting Goods carries the Wilson’s Hope Perfect Pack. It is a starter set for racquetball. During the cold season girls can escape to the “Y” or local indoor gym and play some racquetball. It is a perfect competitive sport. The starter kit by Wilson includes, a racquet, a back pack, safety goggles and balls. Everything your teen girl will need to take off for the gym and start playing. The price is very reasonable at $49.99
Uno Attack Game
Everyone is familiar with the family Uno game, but this version is Uno at the extreme and action packed. Everyone in the family will enjoy the motorized card launcher feature with action packed surprises along the way. It sells at Target for $22.
Science for Teen Girls
Discover This has packaged a Creative Lab Kit for teens called Perfume Science: The Art and Science of Making Perfume. It has all the ingredients for your teen girl or boy to experiment with perfume making.
The kit is loaded with lab accessories and original scents that can be mixed and matched. A very helpful 48 page manual accompanies the kit. It provides instructions and recognizing complexities in smell and the how to on setting up your own perfume lab. The cost is $55 and is available at DiscoverThis.com
Teen Books
Scholastic has some great teen books that are available everywhere. For the younger teen set ages 12 to 13 I found the book Millicent Min, Girl Genius by Lisa Yee. It is rated very high by teens who are geniuses and average girls. The mishaps of a young genius have to still meander her way around the teen age happenings with remarkably funny consequences. The book is fun and funny and available everywhere.
For older teen readers the book Teen Life in Europe, (Teen Life Around the World) is a beautifully designed book and informative on the various styles, life and fashions of teens in the countries of the world. The book really helps teens see their issues are everyone issues all across the face of the planet, but with variations due to culture and economics.
Teen Life in Europe is a must have for all teens in the United States as it tells the story of teens in countries that many know very little about. This generation is the generation of global awareness and the ability to travel by the virtual web or in person. The fabulous book sells at all fine book stores including Amazon for $55.
