1. Bliss Bar. Located in Noe Valley on 4026 24th St., Bliss is a popular bar in San Francisco open to adults. Bliss is known for their signature cocktails, open for indulgence at 4pm. Hold a birthday party here in their Blue Room, available for private rental. It holds up to 40 people. Be warned: even for birthday parties, they have a strict dress code. 2. Butter. Located at 354 11th St. in San Francisco’s South of Market District, Butter isn’t your typical San Francisco bar experience. What’s so unique about this place? Deep-fried everything, American-style – even deep fried Twinkies! Book your birthday party here if you want a trashy, greasy experience (and that’s a good thing). Butter accepts reservations over 20 people, so plan a big party here. Under 20 people? Don’t bother booking – they won’t accept it. 3. Hard Rock Cafe of San Francisco. Yes, there’s a Hard Rock Cafe located in San Francisco! Located at Pier 39 at Beach St. and The Embarcadero, go here and celebrate your birthday in style. There are a lot of options here. If you want, talk with their Sales Manager on customizing your own menu. Want a really big birthday party? Book their entire cafe – it can hold 650 people. If you want something “smaller”, rent their Pier Party Area instead, which holds 150 people.

4. Masa’s Restaurant. For classier, fine dining, rent out Masa’s Restaurant in downtown San Francisco. Located at 648 Bush St. on Nob Hill (stifle the laughter, fellas), Masa’s is a French restaurant ideal for the finer gentleman. Plates here run for $90 at the cheapest. Put on your best clothes if you want to rent this out for your birthday party – casual dress is not acceptable for obvious reasons. Rent out The Wine Cellar for an intimate party up to 14 guests. 5. Biscuits and Blues. Want some Creole with a twist? Biscuits and Blues offers a new twist on southern cooking, along with live music and comedians. Located one block from Union Square at 401 Mason St., San Francisco Chronicle says it’s one of the top 100 reasons to live in San Francisco. You can have the birthday party you want here and they’ll personalize your party the way you want. You can choose from a simple cocktail party, a buffet, or a classy sit-down dinner with delicious Creole cooking. Listen to live music while you dine. Don’t be afraid to drink up either! 6. Blowfish Sushi. Located at 2170 Bryant St., Blowfish Sushi is modernly Japanese. If you hate Anime, don’t go here – it’s covered with Anime. If you only want to party with a few people (some of us are reclusive, admit it), go here for a place packed full of techno music, strange sushi combinations, and Anime decor. 7. North Beach Pizza. Try some deliciously yummy San Francisco pizza here. They have three locations in San Francisco, with the original located at 1499 Grant Ave. at Union St. Besides their famous pizza, try their pasta and sandwiches too. 8. Johnny Foley’s Irish Pub and Restaurant. Want to get back to your Irish roots for your birthday? Visit Johnny Foley’s, located at 243 O’Farrell St. The food here isn’t completely Irish – they offer exquisite crab cakes and smoked salmon. Good news for kids: they offer a kid’s menu for little party-goers. You can book their Parlour room for your party, which has its own bar, private restrooms, and complete privacy from other guests. 9. PlumpJack Cafe. PlumpJack is classic Californian dining, located at 3127 Fillmore St. This is a restaurant intended for older, maturer folks – younger folks won’t enjoy it. 10. Tres Agaves Mexican Kitchen and Tequila Lounge. Tres Agaves is a kicked up version of ethnic Mexican cuisine, open for all ages.
