Just across the highway from the cabins is Dillard’s Outfitters where you can arrange for a canoe, kayak, or raft along with a drop off at the river. Dillard’s can let you know what the water levels are like on the day of your river trip and warn you if there are conditions unfavorable for a float trip. Go fishing or horseback riding in these beautiful mountains. The Buffalo River is a good river for beginners in most weather conditions and Dillard’s can even arrange for you to take a trip as long as all day or as short as a few hours. If you don’t feel like cooking after your trip, they can even make you dinner.

Water adventures at Lake Ouachita are ideal because Lake Ouachita is considered one of the cleanest lakes in the country. There are over one thousand miles of shoreline on Lake Ouachita, and to make things even more exciting, this lake has over two hundred islands that you can paddle out to and camp on overnight. Camp out on your very own island if you’re more interested in roughing it than being pampered. On the water, you can water ski, jet ski, spear fish, snorkel, canoe, or kayak. You can arrange to go on a barge tour scouting for eagles.

On land you can hike or mountain bike on a number of trails that range in experience levels from easy to difficult.
