English Toffee, White Willow Bark

RightSize Smoothie is supposed to be a total weight loss program that uses meal replacement drinks as the base for weight loss. The plan also offers the RightSize® Multivitamin with Appemine®, which they state is a “appetite controlling vitamin”, and AppAssure®, which is suppose to control and manage the metabolism of the subject.

Plan Overview

The premise of the plan is for the user to take replace one or two meals everyday with the shakes, followed by eight ounces of water. Mix the powdered shakes with skim milk. The Skinni Vanilli that was the test subject contained 100 calories before adding the milk, 3 grams of fat, 11 grams of carbohydrates, 6 grams of sugar, and 9 grams of protein. The remaining meals are to be nutritious, low-calories, balanced meals. Take two of the multivitamins once per day. Take the AppAssure® twice a day. Take the first mid-morning followed by eight ounces of water, and the second mid-afternoon also followed by eight ounces of water.

What is In This Stuff?

According to the label, this smoothie mix is supposed to be full of vitamins and nutrients. It contains Vitamins A, B6, C, D, E, B12, Iron, Thiamin, Biotin, Iodine, Selenium, Chromium, Riboflavin, Folic Acid, Pantothenic Acid, Magnesium, Copper, Calcium, Niacin, Phosphorus, Zinc, and Manganese. As for the other things that are in it: corn syrup solids and fructose. For this reason, diabetics should not use it, because that those are just sugar. What is Appemine?

According to Rightsizeonline, “Appemine® is a biogenic amine extracted from green tea, cinnamon twig, and galangal that works by affecting ONLY hunger adrenal receptors in the body.” This is supposed to be the ingredient that aids in the suppression of the appetite.

Cost

Powered versions of the shake are Skinni Vanilli, Lean Cocoa Bean, Slend-A-Berry, and Leano Cappuccino, and they come in a 30 serving size costs $49.95. The one purchased for the trial was an 18.5-ounce container, which contained 20 servings for $29.95. I purchased it locally at Albertson’s grocery store. Also available are ready-to-drink versions, which are 14-ounce bottles that contain two, serving in each. This is available in the Skinni Vanilli and Chocolate Mousse Reduce is a 4-pack for $12.50 or a 24-pack case for $69.99. The multivitamin is $29.95 for 60 tablets (one-month supply). The AppAssure® metabolism booster is also $29.95 for 60 tables (one-month supply). They also have available syrups that can improve the taste of the shake if you plan to blend it with ice, fruit, or other additives. The syrups are $7.95 for a 750 ml (25.4 ounce) bottle. The flavors are Almond, Cherry, Chocolate, Caramel, Coconut, Hazelnut, Raspberry, Strawberry, Vanilla, White Chocolate, French Vanilla, Amaretto, English Toffee, and Irish Crème.

What Makes it Good

The shake actually tastes good. It does not have the aftertaste that many similar shakes have. The shake also mixes well with fruit, ice, and anything else you can throw into a blender.

What is Not So Good

The caffeine that is in the drink is so much that it personally gave me the jitters. Moreover, normally, caffeine does not bother me (not even Mountain Dew or Red Bull). The Appemine® that was supposed to curb my appetite did not work at all. After taking the shake on several different occasions, I was hungry again within about 30 minutes. The powdered version of the drink must either be blended in a blender or shaken in a shaker. If you think you can just stir it in then think again. If shaking by hand in a shaker, 30-seconds to one minute should be sufficient. Even when I mixed it up in the blender, the consistency was a bit grainy.

Where to Buy It

The main retail location to purchase this from is the RightSize web site. However, it can also be purchased at other local retailers.

Final Word

Personally, I was not impressed with the suppression of my appetite. Therefore, the Appemine® to me does not live up to the advertisements. After replacing two meals with the shake, and eating a balanced meal. I ended up having to add some fruits in between the meals, in order to last to the next meal. In two weeks, I lost 3 pounds, which I could have lost on my own. For me it did not live up to it’s promises and is a dud.
