Product Review: Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Creamy Aloe Shampoo

Dreadlocks, Flaky Scalp

All hair needs to be replenished and cleansed regularly, but finding the right shampoo that will not only work for the entire family, but work well, is sometimes difficult. However, in most households, this is the ideal way to go, as you don’t want to be purchasing more than one shampoo type every time.

In our quest to find that perfect shampoo, we tried many kinds, including Organic Root Stimulator® Olive Oil Creamy Aloe Shampoo™ . So, did this prove to be our perfect shampoo? Read about our experience below.

We had been running errands all day and were dreading our trip to the local Wal-Mart Supercenter, not because we dislike Wal-Mart, but because of the crowds of people that can often be found there. We actually like Wal-Mart a bit too much, but that’s beside the point.

We saw a Neighborhood Wal-Mart store and opted to stop there instead. We knew we only needed grocery items and a few household items, such as the shampoo. We weren’t even sure if they would have the type of shampoo we were looking for because we hadn’t purchased these products there before, but at this point, we were exhausted, so decided we would just get the best of whatever options they had.

Once inside, we headed for the beauty area and were actually surprised at the selection. There were even a few things that we hadn’t seen anywhere before (not even in the Wal-Mart Supercenter).

We scanned the shelves and read ingredients until we found something that sounded promising. We needed something that had moisturizing benefits, as a few of us have extremely dry hair. One product, Organic Root Stimulator® Olive Oil Creamy Aloe Shampoo™ , stood out from the rest. So, we added it to our cart and finished our shopping.

The key ingredients of this shampoo are aloe and olive oil. The formula promises to neutralize gently, remove the build-up of calcium, remove build-up of magnesium and iron, and to replenish moisture. It also states on the bottle that it will remove tangles and leave the hair soft, as well as protect it from environmental elements.

The directions on this 12.5 oz. Bottle say to use a generous amount and then to rinse thoroughly and repeat the same process. During the second shampoo, you are to leave the shampoo in for a few minutes before again rinsing thoroughly. It is then recommended to towel dry and then condition with Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Replenishing Pak™. However, we opted for a different conditioner because we did not like the small size that the conditioning packs came in. We have a large family, so the small packages would have likely only lasted us a small amount of time.

This shampoo did, indeed, work as promised. In fact, one child (a 3 year old boy) did not even need conditioner afterward. Actually, it seemed none of us did, but we conditioned anyway. Some of us have coarse curly hair (commonly known as African-American hair), so we are used to conditioning.

Everyone’s hair was left very smooth and soft without frizzy or unmanageable hair. In fact, everyone’s hair has been much easier to manage since we’ve been using this shampoo. It has only been about a week since we started using it and already there is a huge difference. We also noticed that the dry, itchy, and flaky scalp some were experiencing seems to have disappeared.

At $4.99 per 12.5 oz bottle, I found this to be an excellent value. We have paid upwards of $20 or more for shampoo that didn’t work half as well as the Organic Root Stimulator® Olive Oil Creamy Aloe Shampoo™ does. Also, even though they recommend applying a “generous” amount, we find that using an amount about the size of the center of the palm of your hand is perfect. This will be our new shampoo of choice, so I pray it stays around for at least as long as we do.

An added benefit is the fact that this product is organic, which is always a plus in my book. We also have been using this on a child who has dreadlocks, which we don’t usually do with many shampoos. Usually moisturizing shampoos will cause a build-up and only clarifying shampoo or homemade shampoos will work for dreadlocks, but we have found that this shampoo also works. So, if you have dreadlocks or know someone who does, you can consider this product as well.

All in all, this product will be good for any hair type, as our family has varied hair types and it works wonders on us all. This product gets a 5 out of 5 and really exceeds expectations. I would even go as far as to say that this shampoo outperforms any salon-grade shampoos we have ever purchased.
