Lola by Marc Jacobs, One of the Best Floral Fragrances in the World Today

Fragrances, Marc Jacobs

I first discovered Lola by Marc Jacobs when shopping at Nordstrom’s in Denver, CO. It was introduced in 2009, but did not garner popularity until a few years ago. First and foremost, what caught my attention was the incredibly creative bottle. Then, I had the opportunity of smelling it.

When you first smell Lola, you will notice the rose note the most, followed by the peony note. The vanilla is a very prominent note in this fragrance, as well which makes this floral come together and work. The pink pepper note in this perfume creates a very mysterious and sultry effect that is soft and spicy.

Another note that I noticed to be very obvious in this fragrance is definitely the musk. To be honest, I am not a fan of musk. However; the musk in this particular perfume really morphs with the other fruity notes (pear and grapefruit) to deliver a unique scent. Although I am not finding the pear or grapefruit to be pungent in this fragrance, the notes collaborate to balance the musk note.

PROS

Compared to other fragrances, Lola is modestly long-lasting in comparison. The longevity factor is fantastic, as this perfume does not fade. I applied it at 9 am and it’s still on me at 6 pm.

The bottle is eye catching because the base is very simple, but it top is a very colorful with a gold plate holding it together. I don’t know of any woman that would not want this perfume sitting on her shelf.

The sillage is quite impressive in this fragrance, as it radiates perfectly. Although it is far from being “light”, it isn’t real heavy. I don’t know about you, but I think when a woman wears their perfume to the point it makes others in the room cringe, that is a sign of a tarnished fragrance.

CONS

If you are into very robust, musky type fragrances you will not be fond of this fragrance simply because it’s more of a lightly sweet creamy floral. If you are into clean fragrances, Lola is not for you either.

Pink Pepper creates a very spicy effect on this fragrance, however; if you are not a fan of any kind of spicy note in a creamy floral fragrance, Lola is not going to be your cup of tea.

If you are into very fruity or very sweet fragrances, you are not going to enjoy Lola.
