A few months ago, I started using Noxzema Daily Exfoliating Cleanser and was quite pleased with it. The exfoliating cleanser was not a product I needed to use on a daily basis and instead, used a store brand of face cleanser most days of the week. The store brand face cleanser was out of stock so I went in search of a new face cleanser.
The Buying Process
As I surveyed the shelves filled with skincare products, I could envision TV commercials that I had seen for many of them. Even before I picked up an item to read the label, I looked at the shelf pricing. Price matters most to me. Between reading front labels to see what the manufacturer said the product could do, reading back labels to see how the product is suppose to be used, and comparing prices, I was able to narrow my selection down to one product: Noxzema Plus Moisturizers, Deep Cleansing Cream.
I think it important to point out that the back label on the trademark royal blue jar reads, in part, “You can feel Noxzema working as it removes dirt, oil and makeup without overdrying.” Yes, that’s overdrying. I am amused that I still bought the jar of cleansing cream, when the manufacturer states that their product dries your skin, but just enough so as not to be overdry.
Using Noxzema Plus Moisturizers
When I opened the jar, I was surprised at the fragrance. Nothing at all like Noxzema skin cream I recall from my teen years. The fragrance of this new cleanser has a delightful fragrance that is quite light, like a scent you might find in a feminine deodorant. Spring fresh? Baby powder? I can’t put my finger on the fragrance, but I do like it.
The directions say you can use the cleanser on wet or dry face and with wash cloth or finger tips. The first time I used the Noxzema Plus Moisturizers cream, I scooped out about a teaspoon worth with my finger tips. The consistency of the cream was loose and in fact, as I started to slather the cream on my face, a portion of it dropped to the sink. I continued to work the cream into my face and then rinsed thoroughly.
After that first experience, I switched to using a wash cloth. Using a wash cloth worked even better, and I found I didn’t need as much product to clean my face, nor did I lose any of the product to the sink.
I thought I would need to wait days, even weeks to see a difference, but I noticed immediately that my skin was softer. There’s no lingering residue to wipe off on clothes or interfere with reapplying makeup. Even the delightful hint of fragrance eventually fades away, leaving soft skin behind. I had been satisfied with the store brand face cleanser I had been using, but now, after using Noxzema Plus Moisturizers, I won’t be going back.
