Nike Push Up Grips – a Must Have for Any Workout Enthusiast

Push Ups, Workout Equipment

Nike push up grips are simply the finest and inexpensive piece of workout equipment on the market today. We all know that push ups are an essential part of any upper body workout. Normally done on the floor with ones own bare hands push ups (via the up and down motion) exercise vital upper body muscle groups in the: arms, shoulders, back and chest. Unfortunately most people that do standard push ups complain about discomfort in the wrists due to the pressure put on a persons wrists when their hands are on the floor. Nike’s fantastic push up grips eliminate that problem. The grips elevate the user off of the floor taking strain off of the wrists and focusing pressure on the muscle groups to be exercised. With the wrist discomfort neutralized the user is able to expand on their workout thereby enabling them to increase the number of push ups per set and further intensifying their workout which will inevitably lead to fast and better results. I personally have gone from doing 3 sets of 20 push ups in a workout using the standard push up method to doing 5 sets of 20 in a workout using the push up grips.

Comfort of the user is the major benefit of the Nike push up grips. The handles are made of cushioned foam and are contoured to the users fingers. The foam adds to the comfort of the users palms and fingers to allow for easy and comfortable usage of the grips. The material in between the contours aid in traction so the user does not easily slip off of the grips during a set. This is often a hazard when utilizing standard push up grips and normal hand push ups as the users hands tend to sweat as a result of exercise and begin to slip. But this annoying effect of doing push ups is completely neutralized with Nike’s push up grips. There is also a layer of cushion and traction material at the base of the grips to keep them and their user stable while in use.

Nike’s state of the art push up grip advantages over standard models do not end there. In addition, the Nike’s grips have removal bases this allows for easy travel and storage ability and yet this does not compromise the strength of the grips unlike other push up grips currently on the market. And a for a minor monetary investment of $20.00 for this name brand piece of exercise equipment it is a welcome addition for the budget conscious workout enthusiast. Nike’s push up grips are also extremely light in weight to aid in adjusting them to a different position to allow for the user to do different variations of and sets of push ups to focus intensity on specific muscle groups, this is crucial to adequately working out all and not just some of the muscles in the: arms shoulders back and chest, which is a crucial component of attaining upper body strength. The grips while light weight and able to be disassembled are incredibly resilient to wear and tear. I have personally done over one thousand push ups on my set of Nike grips (spread out over a long period of time of course) and once left them out in the rain all day an the foam is still unripped and undamaged.

Despite all of these amazing advantages to using the Nike push up grips there are some changes i would like to see made. For one thing the foam at the base of the grips (there to prevent the grips from slipping while in use) often move around the base bars of the grips and often require adjusting so they are perfectly straight and are not bunching up around the raise bar. The issue of foam slippage is also a problem with the foam at the top of the bars (present to aid in the comfort of the user and to keep him or her balanced on the bars). After repeated use the foam tends to slowly slip forward around the bar and the user will need to pull the foam band back to the middle of the bar after each use. Perhaps some stabilizing rings placed at the front and back of the foam grips to prevent slippage should be considered for future versions of Nike’s push up grips. Cleanliness also appears to be and issue with the grips. This is primarily do to the layers of foam on the grips. These foam layers seem to attract dust particles and dirt from the surface you are working out on often gets stuck to the foam on the base bars. Thus cleaning your push up grips after each use would seem like a prudent measure to take. However these issues are barely cosmetic when one considers the cost and impressive design of Nike’s push up grips. Simply put Nike’s push up grips are an exceptional piece of workout equipment that will greatly enhance the quality of anyones workout.
