My George Foreman Grill Keeps Me Cooking!

Electric Grills, Foreman Grill, George Foreman, George Foreman Grill

I love kitchen appliances. I admire them, buy them, use them once or twice, then stash them away in a corner in my kitchen cupboards and forget about them. The main exception to that is my George Foreman Grill! I keep my George Foreman Grill on my kitchen counter because I use it at least once a week. I actually enjoy cooking with my George Foreman Grill. Here’s why:

1. The food I make on my George Foreman Grill tastes great! I love being able to have a wonderful grilled taste right from inside my own kitchen. I’ve tried several things on my George Foreman Grill, and they always end up tasting great. For awhile I even belonged to a George Foreman Yahoo Group where we exchanged recipes and learned a lot of new ways to use our George Foreman Grills. In addition to egroups, there are also wonderful cookbooks on the market loaded with recipes that work great on the George Foreman Grill.

2. My George Foreman Grill knocks out more than 35% of the fat in fatty foods such as bacon. Well all know that bacon has tons of fat in it, and that a lot of it cooks out during the cooking process. Unfortunately, with most cooking methods, the bacon (or other food such as burgers) sits in the fat the entire time it is cooking. In contrast, the surface of the George Foreman Grill is sloped so that the fat pours off of whatever food is being cooked at the time. This results in leaner, less fatty or greasy foods. Additionally, the George Foreman Grill has an excellent nonstick surface so that oils or butter are not needed for grilling even leaner foods.

3. Food cooks really fast on the George Foreman Grill. Unlike most grills, food is grilled from both the top and the bottom on the George Foreman Grill, thus cutting cooking time in half. For instance, I can grill fish in about 2 minutes for a quick, easy, healthy dinner. If I’m preparing something like fish for dinner, I start everything else (such as rice and a vegetable or salad) first, and then right before setting the table, throw the fish on the George Foreman Grill. By the time I finish setting the table and putting the other food on the table, the fish is grilled to perfection. If I use quick cooking rice, I can have a healthy, delicious dinner prepared and on the table in as few as 10 minutes, start to finish. The George Foreman Grill gives new meaning to the term, “fast food.”

4. The new and improved George Foreman Grills are easy to clean. Cleaning woes were perhaps the only complaints about the older George Foreman Grills. Like all electric devices, the George Foreman Grill itself cannot be submerged in water. This made the older George Foreman Grills hard to clean. Thankfully, the newer George Foreman Grills all have removable grill plates which makes cleaning them a snap.

5. There are George Foreman Grills for every budget. George Foreman Grills start at $39.99, and if you keep an eye on the ads in your newspaper, you can get them on sale many times, especially around holidays such as Christmas and Mother’s Day. The highest priced George Foreman Grills run about $150, but again, those can be found on sale if you keep your eye out for them.

6. If you have a tendency to get bored with your appliances, you don’t have to worry about that happening with the George Foreman Grill, because the George Foreman Grill is always coming out in new designs and with new features. For instance, you can now purchase a George Foreman Grill that is suitable for indoor and outdoor use and even has a built in amplifier and speaker which makes it great for parties. I personally have my eye on the George Foreman NextGrilleration G5 GRP90WGR . This particular George Foreman Grill has 5 interchangeable plates which enables it to sear, grill, bake, griddle, and make waffles. I think that this versatile George Foreman Grill is going to end up on my Mother’s Daywish list. That will keep me cooking for sure!
