L’Oreal Paris Vive Shampoos and Conditioners

Hair Care, Hair Care Products, L'oreal Paris

I am not usually particular about a lot of things. I am particular however, when it comes to selecting hair care products. Most girls want to purchase shampoos and conditioners that best suit their hair texture and will make their hair appearance the most attractive as possible. I am like that, but having tried numerous salon recommended expensive products, I decided on finding hair care products that would bring similar results without me having to spend an exorbitant amount of money. The best kind of hair care product for my type of hair would be something that gave both volume and moisture. One day, as I was walking down an aisle in Target, a hair care product line caught my eye. This was the L’Oreal Paris Vive line. I decided to give it a try.

The first ones that I tried from the Vive line were the Smooth Intense Shampoo and Conditioner. These types come in orange colored bottles. It came in three different bottles, one for fine hair (which is my hair type), medium, and thick. It was during the summer when I decided on this purchase, and I was looking for something that wouldn’t weigh down my hair. According to the labeling on the Smooth Intense hair care products, the “advanced nutrileum complex” formula that they contained were made to nourish hair susceptible to frizz, making the hair smoother and more manageable. Although my hair does not get frizzy at all, I did want my hair to appear smooth and sleek. I was very satisfied with the results. My hair remained smooth, and never felt weighed down. It was the perfect condition for my hair to be in during the summer’s humid and warm weather.

During the winter where I live, it gets pretty cold and snows. My hair texture becomes drier, and needs hair care products that are more moisturizing. I decided to look into the Vive line again since I was so content with the first selection. I decided to try out the Nutri-Gloss Shampoos and Conditioners. These types of Vive hair care were made up of a “pearl protein complex” to provide shine and make the hair feel as soft as “cashmere.” They came in light pink bottles and were divided up for two different hair types, either dry or very damaged. The “pearl protein complex” in this type of shampoo and condition was formulated to mend hair with split ends due to damage from excessive heating agents. The labeling claimed that it would not weigh hair down, but the results for me proved differently. My hair sometimes seemed too moisturized and lacked shine even during the winter weather. I quickly reverted to using the Smooth Intense Shampoo and Conditioner again.

Recently, I just got my hair highlighted. The chemicals used to color your hair can be very damaging to your hair texture. A few days after I got my hair done, I saw a L’Oreal Paris Vive commercial advertising a new type of shampoo and conditioner called the Hydra Gloss Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner. The commercial claimed that these types of Vive hair care products contained omega based moisturizers. I was aware that omega 3 & 6 were good for the body, so seeing the advertisement peaked my interest. I decided to give those a try. These types of shampoo and conditioner came in goldenrod colored bottles. The labeling on these products stated that the “omega moisture complex” was composed of Omega 3, Omega 6, royal jelly, and olive oil. These moisturizers were made to deeply condition and provided needed nutrients to distressed and dry hair. This formula was perfect for my chemically affected hair. My hair maintained its shine and softness. I still use this type of Vive hair care while my hair is still highlighted. If I decide to go back to my natural hair color, then I will start using the Smooth Intense Shampoo and Conditioner again.

The Smooth Intense, Nutri-Gloss, and Hydra Gloss Moisturizing categories are not the only types of hair care that the Vive line offers. You may want to try the type that is the most compatible with your hair texture. The L’Oreal Paris Vive line of hair care products is affordable compared to salon promoted products. They range from $3-$5 per bottle depending where you buy them. You can find the Vive products at any Wal-Mart, Target, pharmacy store, or hair product retail store in your local area.
