Best Drugstore Shampoos for Women

Hair Frizz, Organix, Sunsilk

Clairol Herbal Essences– Out of this shampoo line, I recommend the shampoos: Drama Clean, Hello Hydration, None of your frizziness, or my new favorite, Long term relationship. All four of these shampoos have one thing in common- They leave your hair feeling luscious and smooth. The names of the shampoos really suit them as well. I give all of these shampoos a 5 out of 5 star rating. Each one of them leaves your hair feeling, smelling, and looking great. These shampoos do a fantastic job of keeping down the frizz, lather well, and don’t “Strip” my hair of it’s shine, like other shampoos that I have tried. These shampoos are each made of different formulas- usually containing pearl or satin extracts. These ingredients are an extra bonus as to getting that silky and shiny look you want.

I don’t like Herbal Essences conditioner so much- but the shampoos are the complete opposite. If you are looking for smooth and shiny hair- I recommend these shampoos. They’re set at a great price as well! $3 for the small bottle, and for a larger bottle (Which is two times as big as the small bottle), costs $5. It’s such a great buy!

John Frieda Hair Products- I really love this hair product line. These hair care products are specifically formulated and designed for certain hair colors; and using the right one for your hair color will bring out the best of it. The color choices for these shampoos are: Brilliant Brunette, Sheer Blonde, Radiant Red, and many more. For me, I use Brilliant Brunette- Chesnut to Expresso.

I especially love the fact that this formula is made with light enhancers– which means that it makes every strand of your hair shine as vibrantly as it can. It smells great as well. It smells like a rich coconut formula; healthy for my hair, but not too strong smelling. I hardly ever have to worry about getting frizz when I use this shampoo. I give it a 5 out of 5 stars. You can purchase this shampoo just about anywhere, such as Walmart, Walgreens, Kmart, etc. It’s a very popular shampoo line, so it’s not hard to find at all. The cost for this shampoo is usually around $4-$5.

John Frieda- Brilliant Brunette is probably one of my top choices for drugstore shampoos. The conditioner does wonders as well. And as a duo, these two products will give you hair all the strength and nutrients that they need.

Dove Shampoo, with Repairing Serum– I really like this shampoo; it smells great, but reminds me of the dove soap! I purchased the Dove Shampoo with the repairing serum in it, and this is the only shampoo that I recommend from this line. I really noticed a difference in shine and texture before and after using this shampoo. It made my hair even softer and silkier than before. The repairing serum did work greatly, and I noticed that my hair never looks dry, dull, or dead with the use of this shampoo. I give it a 4 out of 5 star rating. The con of this product is that you may get that “Squeaky feeling” when washing your hair. This feeling means that your hair is getting some deep cleansing- which isn’t always a bad thing. After my use of this product, I recommend using a conditioner to get rid of that “Squeaky” feeling. But overall, my use of this shampoo has always kept my hair looking and feeling great as well.

The price of this product is about $4-$5 for the small bottle. Kind of pricey for a small bottle of drugstore shampoo, but it works very well. If you have damaged or dry hair- This product will do a lot of good for you.

Sunsilk Thermashine Shampoo– My favorite drugstore shampoo of all time is- Sunsilk Thermashine shampoo. It works great, and is heat activated. Which means the ingredients that make your hair soft, silky, and lucious all start to work their way through your hair when you lather it with hot water. It keeps it from: frizz, drying out, and also strengthens your hair from breakage. I give it a 5 out of 5 star rating, considering the price is also cheap as well. I bought a 16 oz. bottle of this for $3.00. Not a bad price at all. You can find Sunsilk products pretty much at any drugstore where shampoo is sold, such as Walmart, Kmart, and Walgreen’s.

I love all the thermasilk products from Sunsilk; especially the conditioner and thermashine spray as well. The thermashine spray is ideal for those who straighten or curl their hair, and works well when using a hairdryer too. It protects your hair from all the harmful damage that will dry and fry it, and instead, leaves it very shiny, and keeps the style locked in as well. Those who are looking for a soft and silky look and feel, I recommend both the Thermashine shampoo and conditioner.

Garnier Fructis- I am not a big fan of Garnier Fructis products, but I have to say that their shampoo does a really good job of keeping your hair frizz-free, and shiny. They are said to make your hair stronger, but I have not experienced any differences from the average shampoo, so don’t let the advertisements fool you. I really did like the shiny and luscious look that these shampoos gave my hair, so I give them a 3 out of 5 stars. If you are looking for a shampoo that gives you hair lust, shine, and reduced frizz, I recommend Garnier Fructis. These products are probably the best at keeping frizz away, compared to other drugstore shampoos. You can find Garnier Fructis shampoos for $3-$5. Or if you’re looking just to try the product, go online and request a sample, or purchase the trial size.

Tre’semme Shampoo– I really like this shampoo line. The smell of these shampoos are great, because they don’t have an extremely strong smell- The smell of these shampoos are “Just right” and last all day. They really do a great job of keeping the frizz away, lathering, and keeping my hair nice and soft. I really like these shampoos, because they are very affordable and when cold weather comes around- I don’t have to worry about my hair drying out. And in hot weather, I don’t have to worry about my hair frizzing up. I give these products a 4 out of 5 star rating. They’re really great to try, or use as an everyday shampoo. These shampoos are salon quality- and great, especially for the price. $3-$4.

Organix Coconut Milk Nourishing Shampoo- Organic shampoos and hair care are getting more popular these days. Why?: Because they provide your hair with all natural ingredients to make it as healthy as can be. Coconut milk and egg whites are often found in many shampoos and conditioners. But this shampoo is unique- It makes my hair softer than most shampoos that I’ve used. When buying a shampoo, this is something that is really important to me. And for the price of this organic shampoo- I don’t think you could get any better.

These bottles are sold for about $4-$6, and all of the active ingredients are sulfate free, which means they won’t dry out your hair. These shampoos will eliminate frizz from your hair as well, and did I mention, they smell amazing? The formula of this shampoo is very easy to lather, and is very unique to where it will repair damaged hair cuticles and mend split ends as well. My hair stays very healthy and less damaged when I use this shampoo. My hair felt healthier and more hydrated with the use of this product line. I give this product 5 out of 5 stars. I really recommend it if you are looking for a product that will hydrate your hair and reduce damage as well.
