L’Oreal Visible Lift Firming Versus Revlon Age Defying Makeup with Botafirm

Foundation Makeup, l'oreal, L39oreal

The miracles of today’s makeup do not cease to amaze me and this includes developments in age defying makeup such as those produced by Revlon and L’Oreal.

The two products, L’Oreal Visible Lift Firming and Revlon Age Defying Makeup and Concealer Compact with Botafirm®, are cosmetics well designed for the thirty to fifty plus woman.

Not an avid fan of foundation makeup, because of its feel, and I’m cosmetically lazy, admittedly my beauty confidence goes up a notch or two when I put my face on with either of these age-friendly formulas.

Better still, Revlon Age Defying Makeup is for people like me who dislike the typical feel of foundation makeup and yet grants a cosmetic pardon for recent years of sun-abused skin.

L’Oreal Visible Lift Firming Makeup

This medium density liquid foundation is available in a translucent, convenient, glass pump container that is well designed for easy application. L’Oreal foundation makeup contains both Pro-Retinol A and a proprietary compound called X-Tensium.

A patent search on L’Oreal Visible Lift Firming makeup and X-Tensium was performed but failed to produce meaningful results. I suspect X-Tensium is transported by microspheres per existing L’Oreal patents. Regardless, X-Tensium is intended to firm up the skin upon application. Results from the Pro-Retinol A take more time, about two to four weeks.

L’Oreal Visible Lift Firming foundation makeup doesn’t work miracles, and is not my favorite of the two, but does a fairly nice job of minimizing very fine lines. Otherwise overall coverage for this makeup is heavy enough to improve uneven skin and imperfections.

With an SPF of 17, L’Oreal Visible Lift Firming Makeup lasts throughout the day and if applied lightly enough blends well enough for spot coverage.

One problem with this foundation makeup is it doesn’t look attractive unless applied somewhat carefully, especially around crevices such as your nose or mouth and a heavy application looks heavy.

L’Oreal Visible Lift Firming Makeup feels a bit oily at first but this soon fades and the skin feels moisturized.

It’s difficult to assess if my skin is firmer from the makeup alone as I use other skin anti-aging skin care products. Also, I do not wear foundation daily. Otherwise, my skin appears to be in better condition and suspect some credit is due here.

While preferring Revlon Age Defying Makeup overall, in the wintertime or when my skin has dry patches, L’Oreal Visible Lift Firming is better suited for these occasions. This foundation makeup is more forgiving of dry spots compared to several other cosmetics.

Of note, another L’Oreal Visible Lift makeup -with no firming action- is distinctly different than the firming foundation formula.

Revlon Age Defying Makeup & Concealer Compact with Botafirm™

It was love at first use with Revlon Age Defying Makeup. Though the compact form is reminiscent of a pancake-style makeup and applied with a sponge, Revlon Age Defying Makeup feels airy and soft to the touch and is easy to apply. A liquid formula is also available.

My skin feels better with Revlon Age Defying Makeup on then it does following the application of most moisturizers, it is that good.

Coverage for fine lines is minimal to fair, similar to L’Oreal Visible Firming Lift, but overall Revlon Age Defying makeup provides average coverage, somewhat less than L’Oreal. It is the overall look that is so appealing.

With an SPF of 20, Revlon Age Defying makeup is oil-free so it makes for a good summertime foundation makeup or for normal, combination or acne-prone skin.

However, if you have problems with dry patches, you may not like this makeup. The liquid may be better but this formula makes very dry skin look flakier. The concealer is quite light, creamier and more forgiving. I generally prefer the L’Oreal Visible Lift Eye concealer.

As with L’Oreal Visible Lift Firming, continued use may improve skin texture.

According to Revlon, Botafirm® is “a patented blend of hexapeptide and botanicals, clinical studies showed a 47% reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in just 2 weeks” and over 75% of women found their skin looked firmer, more radiant after just one week.

Conclusion

Revlon Age Defying makeup receives an A- , better than any foundation I have used. With it, good skin look great and fair skin look good.

For women who desire more moisture and heavier coverage L’Oreal Visible Firming Lift may offer more appeal and receives a B- overall. Your results with these foundation makeup products may be superior with regular use.
