Location of IHOP

The area is a pretty busy street with lots of restaurants, discount shops, and retail stores. Never a dull moment.

How Do I Get to IHOP?

This IHOP restaurant is situated near the cross streets of Boston Road and Allerton Avenue. The BX8 bus, the BX26 bus, as well as the 2 and 5 trains are all within close distance of this venue. You can also take the Bronx River highway and get off Exit 8 East (Allerton Avenue), drive all the way down Allerton Avenue until you hit Matthews Avenue and IHOP will be on your left hand side.

What’s the Atmosphere of this IHOP Restaurant Like?

This IHOP restaurant is ideal for romantic dates and family dinners, both of which you will typically see here at this venue. The atmosphere is very laid back, cozy, and relaxing; couple all of that with the number of couples and families at this restaurant and you will begin to think you’re in Christmas season all over again.

The Food at IHOP

How about some eggs with that steak? Or some pancakes with that chicken sandwich perhaps? Welcome to the strange but wildly tasty fun world of IHOP, the International House of Pancakes where breakfast meets lunch and dinner. Because IHOP loves to incorporate many breakfast bits and pieces with their lunch and dinner dishes, this gives you a wide and fun selection of interesting meals. How about a bacon and scrambled egg cheeseburger? Now that is yummy. What about some scrambled eggs with chopped bacon, steak, rice, and broccoli? Even better. Thirsty? How about a free refill? The food is the best part of IHOP.

Staff and Service at IHOP

With the exception of one or two employees with an attitude problem, the staff is generally very nice and friendly. My family and I have quite a few favorite waitresses at this IHOP. Waiting time is typically not an issue and is not above the normal range. My only complaint is that there is a small fruit fly problem, I won’t use the word ‘infestation’ because it is far, far from that; however, it’s a small problem although not a significant one.

Prices at IHOP

The prices at IHOP are just about on par, give or take a few dishes, with that of TGI Friday’s. There’s a few meals and what have you that will cost a couple dollars more or a couple dollars less. But I can tell you for a fact that the bill usually totals out at $10 more than at TGI Friday’s, mind you I’m talking about a bill for four people here (three adults and one kid). I would try to get there early in the afternoon if you’re bringing kids so that you can take advantage of their ‘Kids Eat Free’ deal. Oh and did I mention that they offer free refills on sodas?

Overall

The International House of Pancakes altogether is very unique in its menu choices and its odd blend of breakfast meets lunch and dinner. As I’ve said earlier, the only disappointment about this IHOP restaurant is the small fruit fly issue. Eight times out of ten, you will probably not notice them and they won’t go anywhere near you. But if you eat there a few times a month (like we do since we live around the corner), you may tend to notice the problem a bit more than usual. I hope that they get this health concern taken care as soon as possible. Either way, at least it’s fruit flies and not something else (I’ll leave that to your imagination), but overall, this IHOP is hopping.
