Four Sites for Discount Running Shoes

Hip Pain, Name Brands, Nutrition Bars, Pronation

If you’re a serious runner, you know the big expense that running shoes can become, however if you try to get by without getting good shoes, you’ll soon see and feel the effects of skimping in this regard. Shin splints, knee or hip pain, combined with early shoe wear will take hold very quickly.

In my house there are 4 serious runners, my 3 oldest girls and myself. The cost can become enormous for me especially during cross country and track season. I’ve found some really great discount websites for buying very well made name brand shoes at discounted prices . I thought I’d share them with you because finding these sites has been so helpful to me regarding running shoe expense. I can now get upscale shoes for everyone at my house involved in running without cringing. These shoes are older styles that haven’t yet sold hence their discounted prices, but their every bit as good as the new updated styles.

The only disadvantage is you are unable to try on the shoes, but if you’re familiar with specific brands and how the sizes run, you can make a pretty educated guess on size and be on target. At least that’s been my experience. I’m very familiar with Brooks and Saucony so I stick with those brands online and come up on target with size foregoing any returns. Here’s some of my favorites.

Roadrunnersports.com

This site has a large selection of all the name brands at approximately 20% off. They also carry gear, apparel, and a nutrition section that includes supplements. This site carries cross training, track and field, racing, and hiking shoes as well. There’s also a link for help with injury treatment. It’s a good basic site for running shoes that provides some nice discounts.

Runningwarehouse.com

I love this site! It offers 2 day free shipping and free returns. They have an enormous selection of all the high quality name brands. They stay between 20-25% off in discounted prices. They also have a huge selection of apparel and accessories like nutrition bars and gear.

Holabird.com

This is another great site that I consider one of my favorites. It has free shipping for orders over $64.95 or more, and provides a 20% discount. Another nice feature of this site is their large selection of junior sizes, a great option for those with younger runners.

This site also provides a nice runner’s tech link for those trying to determine what type of running shoe they will need depending on what their feet do as they run. A video tutorial is included to help with teaching this process. I actually used this method successfully for purchasing my daughter’s shoes. She has severe outer pronation and it was this process on holabird that helped to determine this. 5 star site!

Eastbay.com

This site offers a outlet link where you’ll find very good deals ranging from 30-40% off. All top name brands at outlet prices that are some of the cheapest I’ve seen. I hadn’t found out about this site until recently and will try it for my next big shoe purchase. They also carry everything imaginable for runners as well as all the other sports, from basketball, football, to swim and more.

From the research I’ve done, these sites provide the most variety and selection at some of the best prices I’ve seen for well made running shoes. Give one of these sites a try for your next running shoe purchase, you shouldn’t find yourself disappointed.
