Simply make a regular rectangular cake, then make four round cakes, and piece them together with two round cakes at each end of the rectangle cake. You may have to shave off a bit from the sides of the round cakes to make the bone cake fit together just right. Frost your creation with white or chocolate frosting, and you have a dog bone cake! You can also use a heart-shaped cake pan to make the ends of the dog bone if you have one available.
An even easier cake for your dog themed birthday party is a paw print cake. For this cake, simply make a round cake and four cupcakes, and arrange them to look like a paw print. If you need more cake for your party, simply make another paw print, or offer cupcakes.
