Alpo Variety Snaps: A Treat for YourDogs!

Dachshunds

Purchasing Alpo Variety Snaps for the spoiled dachshunds at our house is a normal thing around here. When I say spoiled, I’m not kidding. They know when we come in from the store with bags that there just MUST be treats inside or something for them like a new toy! Before I can get everything put up from my shopping trip, the spoiled brats are sticking their little cold noses into the bags looking for their treasures wondering what is in store for them. Needless to say, Alpo Variety Snaps are one of their favorite treats.

Alpo Variety Snaps

Alpo Variety Snaps treats are more or less a doggie biscuit. However, they are not the typical boring shaped dog biscuits. They are baked into little squares instead, hence the name Alpo Variety Snaps. These treats come in real beef, chicken, liver and lamb flavors. The biscuits also come in different shades of brown, red and tan or lighter brown colors. I purchase 40 oz. boxes at $1.99 a box. This is a bonus size box with 25% more free and I had a $.75 off coupon for two boxes. Normally I would have only purchased one box at a time but the coupon had me suckered into more and I knew the pups loved this treat so it was a savings on a product that would keep and not spoil in the next couple of weeks. With 5 dogs at our home snacks don’t last more than a week at a time. As always, you should store your doggie treats in a cool and dry place to prevent mold and mildew. I usually pour them into a Ziploc bag after opening a new box.

The Dogs Rate Alpo Variety Snaps

It is really amazing how fast these the doxies can sniff out the bag dog treats are in when I come home from the store! Of course, I have to give a treat the instant the treats are discovered. When opening up a new box of treats, I have to be swift because Fudge will stick his nose down in the box and taken a big gulp and grab as many as possible and then take off running. It is obvious that he likes Alpo Variety Snaps Treats. I’m thinking….they must be pretty good! When he does this, I have to give Anna at least three treats to compensate for the ungodly amount Fudge escapes with. This usually satisfies her and she will sneak off to eat her treats peacefully. I have actually caught Fudge in action sharing his stockpile of treats with Anna. Although this doesn’t happen often, it is a great “Kodak” moment!

My personal test of the product by sniffing the treats in the Ziploc brought no strong odors. In fact, I wondered why the pups think these treats are so great? They obviously taste very good because my dachshunds love these treats.

My Thoughts On Alpo Variety Snaps

Alpo Variety Snaps are a healthy treat for my dogs. Chewing the crunchy snaps help to keep their teeth and gums healthy. This product does not contain a lot of fillers or by-products, which gives it a high rating in my book. I also like the fact that the dogs loved them. They have both of our seals of approvals. I must run now, it is time to give the pups a treat!
