Bisquick Shake’N Pour Pancake Mix is a complete mix that only requires water to make pancake batter. It’s very convenient and makes pancakes for the entire family in about 15 minutes or less.
The first time I tried this product I was skeptical. The directions say to add water to the fill line which is only about halfway up the bottle. I added water, shook it as the directions stated and decided I hadn’t added enough water. I proceeded to add more water. Needless to say, by the time I was finished, I had a watery mess. I was very disappointed and my family and I went out to breakfast instead that morning.
One day about 2 months later, while grocery shopping, I came across the mix again. I decided to buy it for one last try. I took it home and our family had pancakes for dinner much to my children’s delight. This time, I followed the directions more carefully. The key is to fill the water to the line, make sure it’s to the line, but not above it and once you start to shake the bottle, don’t add any more water. I was skeptical that the mix would make up to 15 pancakes as the bottle stated because when you fill the water to the fill line and shake, the batter ends up way below the actual fill line.
I started out with a hot skillet and some butter flavored cooking spray. I poured a generous amount of batter in to the skillet, added some chocolate chips and waited about 45 seconds or less and turned the pancake over. I did this several times until I ended up with 14, six to eight inch pancakes. I was shocked that the mix made so many pancakes and the size I was able to make them. It took me around 15 minutes to make a batch of pancakes for our entire family. The bottle makes pouring the batter in to the skillet virtually mess free.
Bisquick Shake’N Pour Pancake Mix is probably the best pancake mix I’ve ever tried. It made delicious pancakes that my whole family really enjoyed. We had more than enough and ended up throwing a little of the mix away. At a price of $1.69 to $1.99 per bottle, I will buy this every time we decide to have pancakes for breakfast…or dinner.
