Marquette University High School was founded in 1857 as an academy for young men. To this day Marquette University High School still maintains an all-male student body. Rich in history and tradition, Marquette is affiliated with the Roman Catholic tradition and is a member of both the Jesuit Secondary Education Association (JSEA) and the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA). For the 2007-2008 academic school year, Marquette maintains a student body of 1,065, with 21% being students of color. There are 67 classroom teachers, and a teacher/student ratio of 1:15.
