A Review of Dreyer’s Fun Flavors Drumstick Sundae Cone Ice Cream

Alkali, Butter Pecan, Dulce De Leche, Lecithin, Waffle Cone

My husband is an ice cream addict, and I pick up a half gallon every time I go to the grocery store. He doesn’t like the cheap stuff either, he usually desires either Bryer’s or Dreyer’s Ice Cream, which usually retail for almost $5! When my store had a special sale on the Dreyer’s brand, for only $2.50, I stocked up, and one of our new found favorites is in their Fun Flavor line. It’s called Nestle Drumstick, and mimics the taste of the original Sundae cone.

Dreyer’s Ice Cream comes in a tall round tub, with an easy to remove lid that you can easily pull on and off. Such an improvement from those square box shaped cartons of ice cream! This Drumstick flavor features vanilla ice cream with fudge chunks, chocolate coated peanuts, and pieces of sugar style ice cream cones!

I have always loved Nestle’s frozen Drumsticks, and I really like that the peanuts are salted. The salt and the chocolate flavors go great together, and this ice cream is no different. I get the occasional taste of salt when I bite into the peanut pieces, and it is almost like eating the real thing!

The Dreyer’s brand has a large variety of flavors from which to choose, and their fun flavors are very unique. We just finished a tub of Girl Scout Cookie Thin Mint Ice Cream, and it too was delicious! Of course they sell all of the favorite flavors like Chocolate, Chocolate Chip, Mint Chip, Coffee, Fudge Swirl, Neapolitan, Strawberry, and Rocky Road. Their Fun Flavors include Butter Pecan, Cherry Chocolate Chip, Cookie Dough, Double Fudge Brownie, Dulce de Leche, Nestle Vanilla Sandwich, Peanut Butter Cup, and Nestle Drumstick Sundae Cone.

Dreyer’s Ice Cream has been around since 1928, and are a leader in the frozen confection market. They have the ability to make me think I am eating a Drumstick Ice Cream Cone! Truly, it is delicious. The vanilla ice cream has swirls of fudge chocolate throughout, with nice bug chunks of peanuts covered in chocolate as well as chocolate covered pieces of sugar cones. As rich as this sounds, it’s not a super sweet ice cream like their Peanut Butter Cup flavor is, I can hardly get that stuff down it’s so terribly sweet.
