Rape crimes occur every day in our cities. But not all rapists are motivated by the same reason or even have the same characteristics. Some rapists are more violent to their victims than others, some attack near their homes while others pick up their victims in bars.
The Portsmouth and Virginia Beach Rapists are probably not anger retaliation rapists, since those attacks are occurring more frequently than this type rapes and that rapist is not as violent, according to the tidbits law enforcment has released to date on the case.
Rapists: The Anger Retaliation Type
This is the guy who has issues with women. He may have been abandoned by his mother when he was young, sent to live with other family members or even adopted by strangers. But this isn’t always the case, some rapists in this typology came from abusive homes, where their mother allowed their abuse by others or metted it out themselves.
But whether the anger is at his mother, an adopted mother, or a grandmother, this rapist has a real anger at all women in general, and seeks to make them pay through rape. And don’t think that showing this rapist compassion after he is caught will change him, as some anger retalitory rapists only imagine an injustice by a woman, having never actually suffered at the hands of a female while growing up.
Anger Retaliation Type: What He Looks Like and Where You Will Meet Him
This isn’t your cowering, shy, girlfriend-less neighbor or coworker. This rapist will be socially competent and his image is all-important to him. He likes to see himself as a ‘man’s man’ and will likely be athletic and into action-type sports and jobs. Think police work, race-car driving and such. Athletes, like football players, also fall into this category.
He will have a general negative and hostile attitude about women in general, but he will likely be married. Oddly enough, this guy won’t be physically abusive to his wife; he will save his anger and physical violence for his victim instead.
When his mother, his girlfriend, or his wife or boss ticks him off he will likely exhibit a violent temper. But that temper will be directed at the unfortunate woman who crosses his path after he is angered; not the woman he lives with or works for, typically.
Since he doesn’t plan to rape–and only does so out of an angry outburst–his rapes will not be planned out meticulously like a sadistic rapist. This guy won’t have a special rape spot or fantasies about his victim. He most likely won’t even know the victim he chooses, although she is likely to live in–or near–his neighborhood.
This type of rapist blitzes his unsuspecting victim, coming at them from nowhere, unexpectedly. He doesn’t rape for the sex either; in fact, he likely has a girlfriend or mistress besides his wife that he sees on a regular basis. This is to shore up his masculine ego more than out of a desire to be truly intimate with any woman.
Anger Retaliation Type: Attack Characteristics
This rapist is the one more likely to rip off a woman’s clothing and use an excessive amount of profanity with her. He wants to shock and strike fear into her and he plans to hurt her during the rape. He also wants to humiliate her, as he feels women have done–or keep doing–to him.
As his rapes are the result of some situation in which he has been made angry by a woman, he will demean his victim by not just raping her vaginally but also anally, even forcing her to perform oral sex immediately after an anal rape. He is also likely to ejaculate onto the victims face as a further way to demean her.
Anger retaliation rapists are similar to power reassurance rapists in that they choose victims close to their own age and race. They differ in that they may choose a victim a little older too, so this isn’t the rapist who preys on young girls. This rapist is using his victim as a substitute for the person he is really angry at. Therefore, if that is his mother, the victim may be older than him.
Anger Retaliation Type: Attack Frequency and Violence Level
The anger retaliation rapist typically attacks a woman less frequently than the other three rapist types, with his attacks occuring once in a six month period or as long as one year apart.
This rapist, unlike the power reassurance rapist, has no desire to see the same victim twice. His attacks aren’t generated out of a lust for any one type of woman, so his victims are typically just women who happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.
The anger retalitory rapist isn’t shy about using his fist or feet to violently attack his victim in addition to rape. So women who encounter this rapist may take a severe beating in addition to the rape itself. The possibility exists that this rapist can escalate in rage enough to kill their victim.
This type of rapist more often trolls for a victim from the safety and convenience of his car; not on foot. And he will find a place to take her that he feels he can let loose on her without fear of apprehension or interruption once he gets her in his vehicle.
