Aerobics is turning out to be the most preferred from of exercise with today’s youth as it is not monotonous and less stressful than the other forms of exercising. Kickboxing is one such aerobic exercise that is fast gaining momentum. This type of exercise helps in weight loss and helps in burning anything between 350-450 calories in a 50 min workout. Kickboxing consists of different types of workout in itself. It starts of with basic stretches to tone up the muscles and then moves on to cardio workouts. After the initial stages of kickboxing punches, kicks and hand strikes are incorporated in the workout. Kickboxing is always done under the supervision of a trainer.

Walking on the treadmill is another very popular type of aerobic exercise. People can now not make excuses for not having the place to go for walks. A treadmill can be easily placed at home and one can walk on it while listening to music or watching the television. You can choose your daily walking limit and walk on the treadmill at regular intervals during the day. You can start out with walking slowly and increase your speed gradually and then start running on the treadmill and burn more fat.

Aerobic dance classes are another very trendy way to lose weight and stay fit. This workout not only teaches you some dancing steps but also drops calories while you’re enjoying your dance. Step aerobics is another type of aerobics where all the exercises are done with the help of an elevated platform. The elevated platform comes in different heights and can be chosen depending on the intensity of the workout. This kid of a workout is normally done in groups. The legs get toned when doing these exercises; the moves in this exercise are normally done at 32 beats in a set. If you do not have an elevated platform you can still do these exercises on the staircase.

Water Aerobics or Aqua aerobics is another form of aerobics, but this workout is done in shallow water such as the swimming pool. This workout supports the body in water and reduces the risk of joint or muscle injury.
