A Guide to Mouse Deterrent

Get Rid of Mice, Mouse Traps, Ultrasonic

I hear people complaining all of the time about mice. I cant tell you how many times I have heard people in a rage because their brand new home just made a brand ne friend. Regardless of what people say or think, we are basically invading their space. When a mouse enters a home it is doing so to survive. As humans, we stock our homes with some pretty important things. Food and water are just too of them. No, I do not mean that mice drink our bottled water. I think mice were built to survive on an extremely minute source of water. Therefore, if they find a small puddle or few drops of water, then they should be set. They also seem to really enjoy eating our seconds in the form of those munchies we leave on the floor. Now I understand that everyone with a mouse infestation wants it to be fixes immediately or as soon as possible, so in light of the topic on hand, that is what we will be discussing in this article.

Getting rid of mice is a simple process, however every scenario is different. I can’ compare a mice infestation that I cured at my house to one at another person’s place – it just doesn’t work that way. That just wouldn’t be right. Every scenario or a lot of scenarios are different when it comes to mice. Every once in a while, you come across a mouse or group mice that have a little intelligence. Maybe they have learned from past experiences of people trying to get rid of them, I don’t know. However, I have noticed differences in the behaviors portrayed by mice when it comes to traps and what not. So, I bet by now you want me to stop blabbing and get to the good stuff. Well, the good stuff is the information on how to get rid of mice and to do this, there are two different methods that I like to talk about.

Natural Mouse Deterrents

The ultrasonic mice deterrents are just about the most ethical out of all of the other deterrents. The mice are not harmed – that is unless you consider some of the other methods to be “natural.” Some of the most effective methods within this category are scented oils and smells. Peppermint is the most acknowledged scent for getting rid of mice. However, there are also a few other ways to go about getting rid of mice the ethical way. If some scents can rid a home of mice, then wouldn’t the smell of a cat do the trick? In my opinion it would. However, not many people want to have a domestic animal, such as a cat, in their homes. After having some severe mice infestations, some people end up opting for a cat. Anyways, actually owning a cat is not the only way to have the smell or “presence” in your home. I am almost positive that there are sprays or scents out there that are either from cat’s scent glands, or artificially resemble the smell. Either way, this would definitely work if you ask me.

Ultrasonic Mouse Deterrent

I don’t use mouse traps anymore. I have not used them for years, however now I use sticky pads and those neat little ultrasonic pest repellers that plug into a wall. I consider these to be natural mouse deterrents because they do not harm the mice and keep them out or away from a certain area, or at least I don’t think that they harm them. Anyways, you plug the things in the wall and they keep mice away from that area with really high, ultrasonic frequencies. Rats supposedly cannot stand this noise and stay out of the devices range.
