The Fourth of July is such a festive holiday that is bursting with patriotic pizzazz! If your kids are planning on attending some outdoor festivities such as a fireworks display, a Fourth of July parade or a patriotic party, you can help them get in the holiday mood with these fun crafts!

Some of the craft projects below call for glue or paste or paint. I have some great craft recipes right here on Associated Content that you can use to make some of these supplies. Be sure you check the list of homemade glue and paint recipes at the end of this article.

4th of July Craft for Kids #1 – Spirited Bike Spinner: This is a fun craft for any child who is planning on attending some Fourth of July activities on his or her bike. This craft makes a windmill type spinner out of a recycled plastic soda bottle. At first glance, the craft might seem a bit complicated. But the instructions are clear so just read through them before giving up. You also have step by step photos to follow. 4th of July Craft for Kids #2 – Star Spangled Ride: This is another craft project that teaches your child how to dress up their bike for the Fourth of July. This is a perfect craft project for anyone who is actually riding their bike in a Fourth of July parade. The instructions teach you how to spiff up handlebars, wheels and more. 4th of July Craft for Kids #3 – Hand-Some T-Shirt: This is a fun craft project to make a Fourth of July t-shirt using hand prints to create a patriotic eagle. This is a great t-shirt to wear while riding that decked out bike! This is also a fun craft to make during a Fourth of July party. Buy some inexpensive t-shirt (check the dollar stores) and let each child make their own Fourth of July t-shirt that they can bring home as a party favor! 4th of July Craft for Kids #4 – Patriotic Pinwheel: This is a simple pinwheel craft. A patriotic pinwheel is a fun toy kids can bring with them when they watch a Fourth of July parade. They will have fun holding the pinwheel out and watching it spin while the parade passes by. No wind? Just blow! This particular pinwheel suggests using a pencil as the handle. However, if you want a longer handle, you can always use a dowel or a barbeque skewer (cut off the pointed end). You can even use a twig or a stick that you find outside. Be creative! 4th of July Craft for Kids #5 – Patriotic Wind Sock: This is a wonderful craft to make if you happen to live in an area where a Fourth of July parade passes by your home. It also is the perfect craft to decorate your yard for a Fourth of July barbeque. This craft project is for a festive patriotic wind sock that is made from an cardboard oatmeal box (you can use any cylindrical container) and crepe paper streamers.
