5 Best Steakhouses in New York City

Brazilian Steakhouse, Churrascaria, Ruth's Chris, Steakhouses

New York City has many famous steakhouses. There are so many options when it comes to steak and where to eat. Here are 5 I have tried and can say top the others in value, service, and quality of food. When you want some great steak with great service try one of these steakhouses in New York City.

Churrascaria Plataforma

This amazing all you can eat Brazilian steakhouse is top notch. There are 2 locations in New York City. One is in the West 40’s and the other is in Tribeca. They have a pre fixe price for lunch and dinner that includes their great salad bar and all you can eat steak. How it works is you get a chip that is green or red and when you turn it to green the steak comes over to you and gets sliced onto your plate. Sirloin, prime rib, beef ribs, pork ribs, lamb, pork tenderloin, turkey wrapped in bacon and so much more gets sliced freshly just for you. You tell them how you want it cooked and they slice it they way you want it. The salad bar is also amazing with shrimp, sushi, and Brazilian cuisines. Dessert is also amazing and the signature rum drink will make you very happy.

AJ Maxwells

Located in Midtown this steakhouse is one of the best. They have great deals each year during restaurant week so if you get a chance to try it out then it is well worth it. During the rest of the year the prices are pretty reasonable for a steakhouse. They serve amazing bread with the meal, the Caesar salad and soups are fantastic, the service is great and the Filet Mignon is the softest steak I have ever had. The atmosphere is more business casual than most steakhouses which I like when I am in the mood for a nice meal without the hassle of getting dressed up too much. The sides are great especially the creamy mashed potatoes.

Ruth Chris
Ruth Chris is a great steakhouse located in Midtown in New York City. Their chopped salad is amazing as well as their Filet and T-bone. All their steak is served sizzling on a plate of butter which makes it both soft and creamy to bite into. You don’t need a sauce to accompany your steak because there is so much flavor in each bite. Their creme brulee for dessert is amazing as well as their warm apple crumb tart. Ruth Chris is definitely an amazing steakhouse to visit while in New York City.

Palm Steakhouse

The Palm is another great steakhouse with 4 locations in New York City. 2 in Midtown East, 1 in Tribeca and 1 in Midtown West. They all have a casual atmosphere but that doesn’t take away from their exquisite food selection. The sides are huge and taste delicious, I recommend the hash browns, and creamed spinach. They don’t just serve steak they have fish and other entrees that are pretty good too but their steak is what makes them famous. The Porterhouse and New York Strip are 2 of the best steaks on the menu but bring your appetite because they are huge.

Smith And Wollensky

This famous steakhouse is located in Midtown in New York City and serves up some of the best steak out there. It is a business casual place with a lot of business men eating there often. The bread is amazing, the crab meat cocktail appetizer is so fresh and filling, and the steaks cut like butter. The service is great and everyone is really attentive to your needs. Their Sirloin and Filet are 2 of the best steaks on the menu both served juicy and with a sauce of your choice.
