What Are ‘No Annual Fee’ Credit Cards?

The credit card segment is highly competitive with the biggest of global credit card brands becoming increasingly aggressive to present themselves as being more pocket-friendly. A very noticeable trend in this regard is that of credit cards being offered without an annual fee.

It should be understood that conventionally, credit card companies charge a token amount of yearly fee for their services. However, this fee is often reduced for privileged customers or premium credit card holders. Sometimes, the annual fee is waived-off, i.e. when it is established that the customer is a recurrent credit card user and qualifies for more privileges.

Now, No Annual Fee Credit Cards are being offered across all verticals, inclusive of corporate and individual credit cards without such prerequisites. These no-fee credit cards are also advertized as Free Lifetime Credit Cards.

However, some credit card companies offer this feature only if the credit card holder can ensure a minimum spending amount, per year, i.e. the no-free format is offered as a privilege rather than a standard feature. Another variation in the ‘No Annual Fee’ credit card niche is the no-fee feature being offered for an introductory period only.
Considering the number of ways in which No Annual Fee Credit Cards can be presented, it is advisable to thoroughly interrogate the terms and conditions regarding this aspect of a credit card for it.
