Recently, a friend and I ate at a Wendy’s restaurant. I had two burgers and fries and my friend ordered their Wendy’s Spicy Chicken Caesar Salad. Price
The regular retail price charged for one Spicy Chicken Caesar Salad at Hartford, Connecticut area Wendy’s restaurants is approximately $6.35. When I first heard the price of this salad, I thought I was hearing things. The price seemed very high to me and I still think that it is a little over – priced, for a fast food restaurant item. But, after seeing how big it is and actually eating some of the salad, I realize that in today’s economy, the price is not so un – reasonable.

The romaine lettuce greens are fresh and crisp, the spicy chicken breast is tender and expertly – cooked, the tomatoes are fresh and juicy, the asiago cheese is shaved into small, complementary pieces, the French bread croutons are crisp, but not overly – hard and the Caesar dressing is suitably thick and it clings to the other ingredients well.

Taste / Flavor
Through the years, I have eaten and prepared many Caesar salads. While some have been better than others, most of them have looked and tasted largely the same. Wendy’s Spicy Chicken Caesar Salad is definitely a cut – above most of the versions that I have eaten.

The romaine greens are impeccably – fresh and fairly – uniform in size. The spicy chicken breast is delightfully – seasoned and the grape tomatoes add a sweet and juicy flavor that contrasts well with the romaine lettuce.

The asiago cheese lends some smooth creaminess to the item, the French bread croutons are also nicely – seasoned and the Caesar dressing adds a nice garlic and lemon flavor to the salad. All put together, these components form a very flavorful salad that is quite satisfying.
