Utz Chocolate Flavored Pretzels

Chocolate Covered Pretzels, Pretzels

At an anniversary party for a Hartford, Connecticut AA meeting group last week, I happened to notice two containers of Utz Chocolate Flavored Pretzels sitting on the snack table. I partook of the opportunity to try these treats and the combination of sweet and salty flavors proved to be delightful. I so enjoyed eating these pretzels, that I have decided to write a review of them.

Presented here, as a service to the consumer at large, is one food writer’s product review of Utz Chocolate Flavored Pretzels.

Size
The net weight of each of the containers of Utz Chocolate Flavored Pretzels that were served at an anniversary party that I recently attended is 14 ounces. According to the product’s nutrition label, each container holds approximately 17 two – pretzel servings. That serving size may be under – estimated. These chocolate – flavored pretzels taste so good, it may be hard for some people to limit their intake of them to just two pieces.

Price
The only retail price that I have seen charged for one 14 ounce package of Utz Chocolate Flavored Pretzels at Hartford, Connecticut area supermarkets is approximately $5.99. Although that price seems high, I think that these pretzels are a special – occasion food, which makes their price seem more reasonable.

Texture
Chocolate – covered pretzels are new to me. To be honest, I had never eaten a chocolate – flavored pretzel until a few months ago and since then, I have tried three different varieties of them. The Utz Chocolate Flavored Pretzels that I ate at an anniversary party featured large pretzels that were crunchy, but the chocolate coating made them easier to bite into. The combination of salty pretzels and sweet chocolate coating in this product creates an exciting mouth – feel that makes it hard to stop eating them.

Taste / Flavor
These chocolate – covered pretzels are very tasty and they are also fairly addictive. I couldn’t help but notice that the two containers of Utz Chocolate Flavored Pretzels were eaten much quicker than many of the other items on the snack table at the party.

At first, I intended to eat just one of these chocolate – flavored pretzels, but after tasting one of them, I ended up eating three more. The chocolate on these pretzels tastes like milk chocolate to me and its sweetness level provides a great contrast to the saltiness of the pretzels. I do think that three or four of these pretzels is just the right amount to satisfy my appetite. On a flavor scale of one through ten, I would assign Utz Chocolate Flavored Pretzels an 8.5 rating.

Utz Chocolate Flavored Pretzels are packaged in several different types of containers. The containers that were at the anniversary party I attended were white and silver with a blue lid.
