Tween Girl Birthday Party Idea: Mall Madness

Cursive Writing, Tween Girls

If your tween daughter is like mine, the mall has become the place to be. My tween daughter loves to spend time at the mall looking at clothes and jewelry, even if she leaves empty handed, the experience is a fun one for her. This made me come up with the idea of hosting a Mall Madness birthday party for her upcoming birthday. Here are some ideas on how to plan a “Mall Madness” birthday party for your tween girl.

Mall Madness Birthday Party Invitations

Making invitations for your tween girl’s “Mall Madness” birthday party is as simple as creating a flyer. Sometimes when stores are about to have a great sale they send out flyers in the mail. You can use this idea to create fun invitations for your tween girl’s birthday party. Instead of details of a sale you can type up the details of your “Mall Madness” birthday party to print out as flyer invitations. Your tween daughter’s birthday party is likely a big event for her so what better way to announce it then with a flyer?

For some added fun your tween daughter can print out the invitations on colored paper. You can have your tween daughter decorate the empty spaces of the invitation with her own fashion drawings using markers, colored pencils, and/or glitter glue.

Mall Madness Birthday Party Activities

There is usually plenty of activity at the mall. Your tween daughter and her friends can have a great time when you schedule one or more of these fun activities for them to do at your tween daughter’s “Mall Madness” birthday party.

Scavenger Hunt: Scavenger hunts can be a lot of fun for children. You can send your tween daughter and her friends on a scavenger hunt throughout the mall trying to find items which fall into a certain category. The tween girls can work in teams of two, with parental supervision, to find the items included on the list. Each time they find an item they can either use a digital camera to snap a picture of the item or write down the name of the item and the store they found it in. You could include clothing items on your list only and have the tween girls try each item on and pose for a picture as a fun way to conduct your “Mall Madness” birthday party scavenger hunt.

Fashion Show: Your tween daughter and her friends can spend her birthday trying on clothes and modeling them. Each tween girl can be assigned the task to find a new outfit for another tween girl, names can be randomly drawn from a bag or a hat. Once all of the outfits have been chosen each tween girl will take turns going into the dressing room to try her new outfit on and then show it off to the other tween girls and the parents. To make this activity last longer you can visit several stores and have the tween girls try on outfits from each one.

Mall Madness Birthday Cake

Creating a birthday cake for your tween girl’s “Mall Madness” birthday party can be easy and fun. What more could a girl ask for than a cake that appears like a department store? To make the shape of the cake you will want to bake rectangular sheet cakes and cut out evenly sized squares. Frost the top of each square and stack; you can make the cake as high as you want as long as it won’t topple over. Next frost the outside of the cake until completely covered. To decorate the cake you can pipe on a door and some windows along the sides of the cake. To make it extra special write the words “Happy Birthday” near the top of the side with the door on it and then in large cursive writing, write your tween daughter’s name as if it were the name of the department store. Your tween daughter is sure to get a kick out of this fun birthday cake idea. Your tween and her friends can enjoy the cake after your trip to the mall is over.

Mall Madness Goodie Bags

Before leaving the mall your tween daughter and her friends can each leave with a fashionable gift. Instead of handing out goodie bags you can have your tween daughter and her friends pick out an inexpensive pair of earrings from a jewelry store in the mall such as Claire’s. Claire’s usually has great deals for jewelry and you can often find earrings for $3.50 a piece and sometimes may be able to get them on sale as buy two get one free. Searching for and purchasing the perfect pair of earrings can be a great way to end your tween girls’ birthday party at the mall. Your tween girl and her friends are sure to enjoy this type of goodie at the end of your trip to the mall for the “Mall Madness” birthday party.

Throwing a “Mall Madness” birthday party can be a lot of fun for your tween daughter and her friends. It can be a great way for hosting a birthday party away from home and allow for some fun activities for your fashionable tween girl.
