Top 5 Cheap Best Flavored Green Teas

Green Teas, Panax Ginseng, Rose Hips

Flavored green teas are great for those trying to lose weight; they are full of healthy ingredients and delicious flavors while being calorie-free. I love green tea and use it as a way to keep my weight under control by helping me avoid drinking too many sugary, calorie-laden sodas, juices, and coffees, but I really can’t afford the more expensive brands. So through a lot of testing, I’ve found five cheap flavored green teas that taste great and are great for me. Whether you love citrus, berries, or pomegranates, there’s sure to be some delicious cheap green teas here that you will also enjoy:

Bigelow Green Tea with Pomegranate – This is perhaps my favorite of all of the flavored green teas I’ve tried, and I can’t believe it’s as cheap as it is (I can usually find it for about $2.20 per a box of 20 tea bags here in Texas). This is the smoothest green tea I’ve ever tasted, which is probably because Bigelow uses tea grown in higher-elevation gardens that is gently processed (as per the box). The green tea is flavored with apple, natural pomegranate flavors, hibiscus, rose hips, and licorice root, and the honey-colored tea is one of the most pleasant smelling of the cheap flavored green teas I’ve tried, with an aroma reminiscent of fresh pear with floral notes. The first flavor I notice is always that of a crisp red delicious apple, followed by the tart taste of pomegranate and a smooth floral finish that reminds me of honeysuckle (this is likely due to the hibiscus and rose hips). You can sweeten this tea and the other flavored teas on this list with honey, but I actually enjoy this cheap flavored green tea best with no added sweetener (it really doesn’t need it, and it keeps it calorie-free).

Strawberry-Orange Salada Green Tea Fortified with Red Antioxidants – This is probably one of the healthiest cheap flavored green teas on this list, as it is loaded with antioxidants. Lycopene, rooibos (red bush) and hibiscus are blended with natural strawberry and orange flavors to create a tea that provides you with almost half of your recommended daily intake of Vitamin C. The tea is a beautiful juicy red color, and it has a bit of a watermelon scent to it. It has a wide range of flavors, with strawberry and watermelon notes followed by a hint of mango flavor and a slightly tart cherry and orange finish. It’s a soothing hot tea, but it’s one of the few flavored green teas I’ve found that is also great served cold with an artificial sweetener like Splenda. With all of the good stuff packed in this tea and it’s amazing flavor, I’m pleasantly surprised at how cheap I can always find it.

Blueberry Salada Green Tea Fortified with Purple Antioxidants – This is the only of the flavored green teas on this list that’s decaffeinated, but even a caffeine junky like myself can overlook that fact for his delicious and cheap flavored green tea. It’s another green tea that packs a powerful antioxidant punch with grape skins, rooibos, hibiscus, natural blueberry flavor, and 30 percent of your daily value of vitamin C. Other ingredients include elderberries and rosemary leaves. It’s a deep violet-colored tea that smells very strongly of fresh, juicy blueberries. The first flavor I notice with this one is that of a sweet plum, which is followed by the mildly tart burst of wonderful blueberry flavor and a smooth grape finish. If you’re looking for a tasty and cheap flavored green tea that is decaffeinated, you definitely need to try this one.

Celestial Seasonings Antioxidant Supplement Green Tea – Celestial Seasonings is one of my favorite brands of cheap flavored green teas, because of the beautiful artwork on the boxes, the company’s ethical trade practices, and the wide variety of flavored green teas available. Like many of the flavored green teas listed here, this one has some extra healthy ingredients added, including a whopping 110 percent of your daily value of vitamin C and 20 percent of your daily value of vitamins A and E. Other ingredients include eleuthero, alfalfa, stevia, and natural lemon and orange flavors. The tea has a very refreshing citrus flavor, with sweet orange in the foreground and a slightly tart burst of lemon finished off with the taste of lemon zest. This is one of my favorite cheap flavored green teas for a cold or sore throat; just add a tablespoon of honey and sip on a hot cup of it for a soothing, healthy way to help you feel better.

Lipton Lemon Ginseng Green Tea – If you’re looking for a cheap, healthier alternative to energy drinks or calorie-laden coffees, I’d highly recommend this green tea with panax ginseng for an energy boost. Other ingredients include natural lemon flavor and lemon grass. I was surprised to find that Lipton actually has a great variety of tasty and cheap green teas, and this is one of my favorite due to it’s very tart flavor. I prefer it plain, but if you don’t like a lot of tartness, you may want to add a little honey. The flavor here is lemon through and through, with a slightly sweet citrus start followed by a burst of sour and tart lemon flavor and a lemon zest finish. There is a bit of bitterness from the panax ginseng, but it doesn’t really bother me. This flavored green tea is one of the healthiest ways to start your day, and I like to enjoy a cup in the morning before work in place of coffee (it really does wake me up just as well).
