Patriotic songs demonstrate Americans’ love of country. As the crowd gathered at our local fireworks display to sing The Star Spangled Banner that love of country was very evident. As we were singing I heard a little girl’s voice pipe up saying, “I don’t know this song, Mommy.” It made me think how important it is to teach children the patriotic songs that unite Americans. Learning these songs strengthens children’s love of country – their patriotism. So, next time you are singing with your children don’t forget to sing a few patriotic songs.
