Independence Day celebrates the birth of our nation. The State of Tennessee celebrates America’s birthday with festivals and fireworks. Nashville’s fireworks have been acclaimed as one of the best fireworks shows in America. Following are some of the celebrations across Tennessee.

Memphis. July 3. Independence Day Celebration. Red, White & Blues. The event features food, drink, live music, antique car show, motorcycle displays, family area, live entertainment nd more

Pigeon Forge. July 4. 17th Annual Patriot Festival with musical concerts and fireworks. The music of the Smokies is combined with food and activities for the whole family.

Sevierville. July 4. Start by grabbing a seat at Smoky Stadium to capture the excitement of the fireworks in the Great Smoky Mountains

.Gatlinburg. July 3 at midnight. .Gatlinburg gets an early start on the celebrations, by having the first July 4 parade in the nation, starting at midnight. The Midnight Independence Day Parade in Downtown Gatlinburg is expected to bring s many as 100,000 people to attend the event. Over 100 units include floats, bands, vehicles, dance teams, majorettes, civic groups and equestrian entries. Food vendors and entertainers will be on hand to help make the celebration the most memorable ever The Great Smokey Mountains National Park.

Gatlinburg. July 3-4. Christus Gardens features a River Raft Regatta.

Gatlinburg. July 4. The Fourth’s Grand Finale on the streets of Gatlinburg is an hour after sunset. The magnificent fireworks light up the beautiful Smokey Mountain skyline.

Nashville. July 4. Nashville is famous for their spectacular fireworks displays. New this year is the first annual Hot Chicken Festival in East Park. The annual Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks are at Riverfront Park. The Hot Chicken Festivities swill be from noon to 2 pm on Woodland Street in East Nashville. The Let Freedom Sing entertainments begins at 4 pm downtown on the west bank of the Cumberland River. The fireworks show is huge. The pyrotechnics will be accompanied by the Nashville Symphony Orchestra.

Nashville. July 3. Opry Signature Show Series: Star-Spangled Opry. The Grand Ole Opry House share its American spirit with patriotic favorites and salutes to the red, white and blue. Admission charge.

Knoxville. July 4. There will be a slight change of venue for the location of this year’s festivities. The fireworks will be shot off from the Henley Street Bridge.

Clarksville. July 3. Concert at the McGregor Park Riverwalk.

Chattanooga. July 3. Pops on the River. Chattanooga’s Pops Orchestra, Chattanooga Symphony & Opera.. Fireworks show.

Buchanan. July 4. Festivities begin at 9 pm with live music before and after the fireworks display.

Columbia. July 3. Old fashioned celebration with fireworks after dark.

Cookeville. July 4. Star Spangled Fourth 2007. Event features fun, food, games and music. Begins a 2 pm and ends with a fireworks show.

Franklin. July 4. Various programs celebrate America’s birthday.

Newport. July 4. Home town celebration with food, rides and fireworks.

Pikeville. July 4. Parade through the Fall Creek Falls State Park campground.

Waynesboro. July 4. Old fashioned celebration. Bluegrass and barbeque, arts and crafts.

Etowah. July 4. Old Fashioned celebration with entertainment, food and fireworks.

Winchester. July 4. Bicentennial fireworks show at dusk.

Kingston. July 4. Live entertainment, food, parade, car show and fireworks.

Pickwick Dam. July 4. Fireworks display at Pickwick Landing State Park.

State officials in Tennessee are encouraging people to attend fireworks shows this year and consider not shooting off their own fireworks, due to the drought.
